This past Wednesday, we released Counterfeit by Wayne Houchin - one of the most powerful, practical torn and restored effects ever released. Counterfeit was inspired by Guy Hollingworth's performance on The World's Greatest Magic television special in 1996. Wayne was 14 years old at the time, and since then, he's developed and polished the effect into what it is today.

In 1996, there was no magic exposure on YouTube - because YouTube wasn't created until 2005. But today, YouTube exposure is a significant threat to magic creators and the secrecy of magic overall. To combat that, tonight we'll be hosting the latest edition of our FAKE exposure competitions. Your challenge is to come up with the most RIDICULOUS, crazy, outside the box, laughable method for Counterfeit. Then, film yourself teaching that ridiculous method to the world, and post the link in THIS forum thread.

Upload your video entry to YouTube or Vimeo, and post the link to your video in response to THIS forum thread on or before 7:30pm EST tomorrow, Sunday, February 1st. You have a FULL 24 HOURS to enter this week! After time is up, our panel of judges will go through all submissions and decide on a winner based on overall creativity. What's up for grabs? 1,000 Elite Points, Counterfeit, and 2 Decks of Black Mystery Box Playing Cards. Have fun with it!

While this contest is lighthearted, the goal is to fill the web with FAKE exposure videos, making it more difficult for anyone to learn the real secret - aside from the authorized source. Together, tonight, we can make a real difference in the fight against magic exposure. Go for it!

Okay guys I know they method it takes 560 gorillas 6 elves and a cheese burger. First you rip the card in four pieces second you take 6 miniture elves they drug the spectators and the 560 gorillas beats anyone who notices you go to your pocket and get out a half of a card with a fold and also ditch two pieces you then fold the card back to look like it's one piece then you bring it up showing you put a piece on then the elves and gorillas go at it again you go into your pocket and ditch one more piece and pull out a card with one corner ripped out and fold the other behind the card you then fold it out to look like it was just put on there. the elves and gorillas do their job one last time you then ditch the last piece and bring out a card with all corners but a slit you fold the corner towards you and when the spectators look you fold the corner out to see. You then fold them again and switch the card with a duplicate folded one with no slit. And that is how counterfeit is done by Wayne Houchin.
