Shim Substitutes

Hey what can you guys use as a substitute to shim foil and shim wire? The foil that they included in the Pk kit was so small i don't even think i can shim more than a few cards with it. (i still haven't used any of it) Is this "shim foil" and "shim wire" specially manufactured or can you get them at a hardware store? If not, what can you guys suggest that's as thin and sensitive to magnet as the shim foil and wire?

The security tags in a DVD case is good for shimming material.

Yea, the foil on the DVD's sound good. but i dont have much of them. I really want the closest thing to the foil included in the kit. It's so thin yet it's so sensitive. I need more of those
