Stage: Thimbles and Food

Hello!

I have a show coming up which is largely a silent comedy show.

I have two questions:

1) Can thimbles work on stage? The auditorium houses over 1000 people.

2) Are there very good trick that involves food or the mouth? I already have Nate Kranzo Live 3 and know the multiplying gumballs trick from Joshua Jay, are there better tricks (and the sources)?

Thanks

Will there be a camera and screen or are you on your own on the stage? Do you already preform a thimble routine?

Shoot Ogawa just did a lecture for our local ring and he featured thimbles as a part of it. He sells some very colourful ones that can be seen from a good distance but a 1000 seat auditorium might be pushing it if it is not also being projected onto a screen for those in the back. Are you able to have a friend go sit in the back while you stand on stage to let you know what they can see?

Thimbles are simple props and I wouldn't say most of the moves are particularly difficult but to be entertaining you need a really well choreographed routine.
