I think this is a good idea.
However, I don't think there should be any tangible award. Just a title or something.
Or maybe, at the most, a paper with the award written out and framed. I don't know.

On second thought, it would take A LOT effort to have "best of the year _____" awards- the "best" can change every week!

I think its a good idea. We have like a thread where people vote for there favoutrite new orignal effect by a forum member or best video by a forum member.
