First look up Will Draven's series on How to Get Gigs and Keep Clients.
Next go to the library and look into the following books:
Become Slightly Famous by Steven van Yoder
Never Eat Alone by Keith Ferazzi
Book Yourself Solid by Michael Port
How To Position Yourself as The Obvious Expert by Elsom Eldridge Jr. and Mark L. Eldridge
An Actor Prepares by Constantin Stanislavski
The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene
Off-the-Wall Marketing Ideas by Nancy Michaels and Debbi J Karpowicz
Decide on a target market and what kind of shows you want to do. Figure out what exactly you have to offer that other magicians don't and play that up in your adverts and marketing.
Also look at the work of Richard Webster, in particular volumes such as King of the Small Towns and How To Make Money Giving Free Talks. It may not be the deciding factor in your success, but every little bit helps.
go out and just ask random people on the street "do you want to see something " or can i show you something / do talent shows or just go to a restaunt and ask to do some free shows
And how much income are you getting from that?
