The Royal Road To Card Magic - Questions

Hey,
I am not entirely sure where to post this since this is obviously a product, but not a product sold here (as far as I know).

Anyway, maybe some of you've read The Royal road to card magic and enjoyed it like I am now. Sometimes, at least for me as a nonnative speaker, it's unclear. Therefore I thought about opening this thread for general questions about The Royal Road To Card Magic.

Is page 6: Retaining the top and bottom cards in position the same as page 7: Top card to next to bottom and back to the top, except that you square and pat the cards once in between (Retaining the top and bottom cards in position).
I wouldn't be surprised if it is the same, but I didn't expect it to be part of the Overhand shuffle practice routine (page 11) then.​

Welcome to the forums.

That section in Royal Road is poorly written and hard to understand. The short answer is that the procedure is the same, but it is being used for different purposes with page 6 being used to retain position and page 7 being used to shuffle, show the cards are not on the top and bottom and then to return the cards to their position.
