I've noticed that many products from Theory 11 is also on Penguin Magic... Are Theory 11 and Penguin magic like... Affilliates? I saw that tricks like Smoke and Dresscode are found on their site. That's pretty normal, just like how magicgeekinc just gets tons of stuff from other people... What I found a little odd was that they were selling instant downloads like Transit also... So are you guys like "teamed" up or something?

Transit is (and always has been) available as a DVD that includes all of the necessary materials in addition to the download option. While the download may be ideal for those overseas, or those within the USA that don't fear a quick trip to Walmart, we've always provided the choice.

PenguinMagic joins a few hundred other stores - including Hank Lee, Hocus-Pocus, ThinkGeek, and more that carry our product line. We appreciate their support as well as those brick and mortar stores that created the foundation for what we do today.

Jb,

Don't you think that you shouldn't be selling products to thinkgeek? The people on there, a lot of my friends, don't respect the art like magicians, and are usually highschool kids that want to amaze for a few seconds. Places like penguin on the other-hand are filled with magicians who respect the art.

Just a thought...
 
There is nothing wrong with wanting to amaze friends or have a few tricks up your sleeve. Who are you to say that only people that don't respect the art get magic from those vendors?

I just checked out ThinkGeek's site and they only carry Guardians and Propagandas from what I found. No biggie.

Whoa, those didn't come up when I did a search. Turns out you have to search "magic" instead of "theory11" to have those come up.

There's nothing wrong with someone that just wants to learn a few quick tricks to impress their friends. That's how the majority of us started in magic to begin with. Some people may want to learn a few tricks to show their friends at school, business partners, or even to help meet new people and break the ice (cough girls cough). There's nothing wrong with that.

Sometimes, after that person learns just one trick, practices it, and performs it, their life changes. They develop a passion and a desire to perform again - and to do so, they need to learn more. They need to study. They need to practice. And so an interest is ignited and a new magician is born. This art needs new life and new blood to survive. The more we can aid in that pursuit, while instructing those new in a professional, respectful manner, the better.

It's super ironic that just because t11's CEO was a former E staff member and both companies have similar products (to an extent), that they're bitter enemies. I'd love to see a t11/E/penguin MASS DVD set from all the artists of all three companies - that'd shut a lot of people up.

Or maybe they'd just moan and ***** more. Hard to tell.

To those out there reading this with a goal or a vision of any type - be ambitious. Set a high standard for yourself and a realistic yet aggressive goal for what that is. Whether that goal is to be a performer or a creator or a doctor or a musician. You'd be surprised at what you can accomplish when you set your mind to it and when you're determined to make that happen. Simple secret: work hard.

With that said, I think the original question contained in this post has already been answered.
