If you ask me, using a pole and an assistant is a bit excessive for a simple floating card effect. Regardless, I admit it looked pretty decent on camera. To everyone else criticizing this effect for its lack of practicality in the real world, I recommend researching some classic Invisible Thread Reel (ITR) work. This same thing can be duplicated using a standard reel and some tension control. I've managed to do similar levitations using other objects. It produces the same exact effect for anyone interested. I hear Michael Ammar's Easy to Master Thread Miracles is an awesome source to learn thread magic. I believe I learned the basics from the Tarbell course... can't be positive, but I do know there's a practical method to this effect for people doing close-up magic "anytime, anywhere."
