What do you think a card magician should own?

Why does everyone want gimmicks..? what's so cool about them.. they are usually weird props or just too much work.

not really. gimmicks can really enhance your magic . i use gimmicked/gaffed cards quite often because you can achieve things with them that would otherwise be impossible

I always thought an good imagination and a nice personality were good things to have. Clothes are a must to you don't want to freak out your audience.

It all depends on the material you perform. A sharpie is required for many card effects. An invisible deck is probably one of the best "outs" to carry, especially if you do an effect or two that don't work 100% of the time. At a gig, you need business cards, thats key. Everything else depends on your effects and routines. A lot of card men carry a duplicate card, a double backer and/or any other utility card gaffs.
