I don't believe that's correct. Whilst the effect is one of Cyril's famous ones, I'm fairly certain he was not the inventor, nor is it "his" effect - though he may well have developed its methodology. I'm under the impression that the effect's history runs far deeper than that though, and that Cyril more or less simply popularised it.

i would tend to agree with praetoritevong, i think it definitely goes back further, i seem to remember reading somewhere about old seance's, carnivals and freakshows using similar "head loss" illusions but i cant for the life of me remember which book it is. Definitely PM Brad, that guy is a rolodex
