What got you started in magic and cardistry?
I got started in magic after seeing my first David Blaine special when I was eight. However, throughout most of my childhood I would be interested in magic for short periods of time throughout the years. It wasn't until I was about 13 that I started my daily practice grind and began my real journey. I then became a member of The Magic Castle when I was 15. That was the first time in my life I was ever surrounded by magicians. It was also the first time I saw people do Cardistry so I started that around then. The rest is history.
Who are your favorite magicians and cardists to watch perform?
I have too many magicians and cardists to name, but I will list a few. In the world of magic I believe Derren Brown is my favorite performer due to his prevailing skill in theatre alone. Mixing that with fooling mentalism and magic makes me want to bow down to greatness. Other magicians include Juan Tamariz, Helder Guimaraes, Woody Aragon, and Asi Wind. All of these magicians have been influenced by or have created Spanish styles of magic. Spanish style card magic has a special place in my heart. As for cardistry I will give you my top 3 favorite cardists in no order. Aviv, Tobias Levin, and Dimitri Arleri.
Outside of magic and cardistry, what are your other passions and interests?
Magic is by far my reason for existence, but I'm also absolutely obsessed with music and film. I'm the guy in the friend group who tells everyone what to watch and listen to . If you ask any of my close friends what type of music they listen to they will probably say, "ask Franco"
What was the last magic effect or cardistry move that completely blew you away?
I'm blown away my magic and cardistry on a semi weekly basis. I really don't have an answer to this . I will say that Andrew Avila's prism was the most mind boggling move to see at the time . I guess there's a good reason I mentioned him specifically.
Who are your inspirations?
I would rather mention that I am inspired by people who are genuinely great human beings and make a living doing what they love. Being around people like this brighten my mood tremendously.
