I count cards!!!!! i know three diffrent ways and my favorite is one that isn't taught anymore(so its harder to get caught!). All the sights that I've seen stink and hardly teech you. My uncle used to work in a casino and would count cards up in the sucerity system to catch people and taught me what i now know.

It's been 15 minutes...give people some time. Your topic is not a common one that comes up, thus it shouldn't come as a surprise that it will take a little while for an answer.

If you're in that much of a hurry, though, I suggest taking a look at some gambling sites, or gambling cheating sites, as well.

I cannot help any further, as I do not count cards.

counting cards isn't cheating and it isn't illegal casinos just think its unfair and since they ate a business they can refuse service to anyone and that means they can kick you out for doing it.

Do you know perfect basic strategy? If you are using the Hi-Lo system, can you convert to true count? Do you know how to vary your bet correctly? If you know how to count the values of the cards but don't know these three essential things, YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO COUNT CARDS; YOU SIMPLY KNOW HOW IT IS DONE.

On the other hand, the original book on card counting is pretty good. It's called "Beat the Dealer" and it is by Edward Thorpe. Another good book I recommend would be "Knock Out Blackjack" by Olaf Vancura and Ken Fuchs. The KO system is very easy to learn and doesn't require any conversions.

The reason I wanted to ask you the questions in the first paragraph is because a lot of people these days (after watching the movie 21) claim they can count cards. They know that low cards (2-6) have a value of +1 and high cards (10-A) have a value of -1 and 7, 8 and 9 are neutral. That's all they know. No basic strategy. No true count conversion. No bet variation strategy.

Personally, I don't count cards because more and more casinos are using Continuous Shuffling Machines which eliminates the fact why card counting works - the game has a past. With a CSM, the game has NO PAST.

If you want any help with basic strategy or other card counting related issues, please feel free to contact me.

Cheers,
Shanku

the method i use is realy realy realy hard and thats why its not taught anymore but it is accaurite. You should learn some simple ones first and be able to count realy fast and under pressure too with an easyer method first and then work your way up from there.
and no sorry i promised my uncle i wouldn't tell anyone.

or they can "backroom" you. anyone watched the movie 21???

haha the movie 21 isn't very accurate in the whole "beat the guy up in the back office" they used to always do that and sometimes still do but since card counting isn't illegal casinos are afraid of getting sued for every penny if they beat someone up so they rarely do that anymore.

koblackjack.com teaches the easiest method of card counting. I good book that I have on card counting is "The Mensa Guide to Blackjack." If you want a DVD, expertinsight.com has one that looks good by a guy from the MIT team. http://www.qfit.com/blackjack-strategy.htm gives a nice guide on which card counting system is best for you.

Simmer down...I didn't say it was cheating or illegal. I was just suggesting likely sources it would be discussed.

In addition, you may wish to check the different blackjack guides that can often be found at local bookstores.

oh thanks! i'll check my bookstore! again, does counting cards change in any way your performance in 21????
That depends on how skilled you are at counting cards (including your betting strategies), and how often the dealer shuffles the cards, among other things.

The short answer is, for most people, no, counting cards doesn't markedly improve your performance in blackjack.

so how good would u have to be to make it "work"?
I'm not sure I could really answer that. That would be like me trying to explain how "smart" you have to be to succeed in university. All I can really say is that considerable practice would be necessary.
