Hey guys,
Meeting up with other magicians who share the same passion as you is quite awesome. Today, I got the opportunity to do that for the first time. I met up with Jack Webster, you know him, the guy who won the 144 decks of guardians....
Anyways, Jack and I met up in a market in my area, and we had a BLAST. Cards were flying left to right, and he was doing some sick sybils...
But anyways, he had his deck of cards and loops, and I had my deck with XL and Omnilope by Jay Sankey. For the guys who do not have Omnilope, GET IT. It completely kills the audience! So back on topic, we started performing some various card tricks, like 2 card Transpo, Biddle, Card Change in the Specs hands, ect.
While in the process, of course we got rejected. Probably the worst rejection we got was like this:
Me: "Can I show you a quick card trick?" (I was asking a kid who was about 13-14)
Him: "Yeah sure"
Me: "Okay, so....."
Father: (Grabs him by the shoulder and loudly shouts "NO!" in our faces.
It was pretty hilarious, you had to be there, but then we went to a seafood restaurant and performed for the waiters who worked there. We did this for about 10 minutes, and everything went FANTASTIC. Throughout the small amount of time we had together, we made some serious bank and earned 6 bucks! (That is a lot, I know...)
We exchanged ideas on various tricks, gave each other tips on different things, and overall, it was a great experience for the both of us. So if any of you guys have the opportunity to meet up with someone who is also into magic, DO IT! It will be a very fun time, and I thought I would share this moment with you guys.
Let's hear some other experiences when you and someone else met up and had a JAM.
Cheers,
Casey
