    Secrets in Magic?

I really believe that magic is an art and while I understand that not many people tap into this artistic property of magic, I believe it can easily be an art form in good hands (literally). The above was important to start out with, because while I am not really discussing whether magic is an...

    Superiority Complex

Hey, to be really honest, there is no dearth of people who spell it as 'slights' or 'sleieieghts' or any other combination of e and i that you can imagine! :D Yes, I don't think it's possible for magician to be really that 'good' unless they know the basics in theory and about their community...

    Superiority Complex

When we learn something by ourself, we respect it a lot more and develop a sense of pride in doing what we do. There's nothing wrong with it at all. The problem is that we also develop a bit of a superiority complex. Sometimes we want to attract attention to ourselves in different ways, wanting...

    Pointing In Magic

So the lesson is not to point? (also, does anybody know the anecdote and can explain to me what exactly it means?)

    Pointing In Magic

I read a very interesting anecdote some time back, and I paraphrase:- (please correct me if I'm wrong in any way) Mark Wilson's son, Greg Wilson was being tutored for a short session by Dai Vernon. Apparently, it was Mark's philosophy to always point, whenever he performed magic. Of course, he...

    Learning suggestions?

Hello! You replied to me, you liked my post, hence I grant you the permission to call me just by my first name 'Mohana'. :D I'm glad what I said helped you. Cardistry is a wonderful art form! I love being a part of it. Cheers! :)

Extraordinary Moments and Bias in Magic

If the words in Maximum Entertainment are religiously followed, magic should logically be composed of Extraordinary moments. But almost none of the tricks and routines explained in books like RRTCM and ECT are such 'moments'. Has there actually been a change in the style of popular magic from...

LOST IN THE SYSTEM - Cardistry by Simon Lauter

    Learning suggestions?

ATM might not be a difficult move. But ATM requires quite a bit of foundational knowledge in cardistry and finger strength that comes from other moves. You can of course master it (I mean, what even is impossible in this world?) but I don't think it's a wise strategy to deal with it first...

    This is truly hilarious!

It says Tru TV. It can't possibly be not real. Regardless, the video was one of the most entertaining videos I have watched the entire week.

Riffle Shuffle with Bicycle Cards - New deck and beginner - Need Help!

I don't hate Slytherin BUT I'm a Pottermore-certified Gryffindor, so... I get it. Either, as you said, you're applying too much force, OR maybe check the positions of your thumbs right before and during the cascade? Here's the thing... If the weave or the ratio as you put it, is too far off...

    Real Coin Magic

Does anybody have Real Coin Magic by Benjamin Earl? If yes, how does it compare to other more 'classic' coin magic books, and were the services and entire process of purchasing and getting it satisfactory and smooth-sailing?

    Continuing Magic

Oh no! Well... Since I can't edit my original post there, this is what I meant... No source OTHER THAN BOOKS mentions those intrictae details. (That's what I meant) I agree. I agree with this to. Having an 'obstruction' (using this term loosely) and talking about having the benefits of an...

    Continuing Magic

Very, very true. I have indeed seen magicians becoming more move-oriented, when often they end up making the method the trick (however, there are also those times when the move itself is done terribly. Come on, if you're doing something wrong, at least wrong magic correctly!) Are you calling...
