    Definition of a Magician

I mean, they're not wrong. Here's the thing about magic from what I've figured out so far: If you continuously perform for your close friends, your an annoying jerk. And they aren't wrong, even my friends who do magic got me annoyed by constantly doing magic. If you don't perform for them, they...

    Outdated tricks

Actually I really agree. A lot of older card tricks were boring to read through. However, I think that may be the point. It kinda forced you to come up with your own presentation. The old books (mostly) had the best ideas, and bland presentations. This forces you to come up with your own...

Edit (time ran out): Not to say it's wrong to vape if that is your personal choice or whatever, just don't like the idea of it becoming a "new staple" in magic as a genre. Phew, flame war averted. Also, this is the Rope Magic Thread I was talking about...

Favorite effects & routines? Also, I heard about the whole "YouTube partner program" thing. Smh. Hope you guys can work through it and hit that necessary mark where you get monetized again!

Was legitimately about to ask this exact same thing in our Convo lol You beat me to it. That Jinx Magazine that I showed you has a lot of old stuff that we can work on, I was looking through it for this exact topic last night! Here's some things I can see. Bear in mind, a lot of old magic can...

    Trick idea

There are definitely a ton of ways to do it. The way Madison teaches it in the video, the card is about 3/4ths of the way out of the pocket. I can't see a spectator fully putting their hand into a strangers pocket when they can easily grab the corner of the card and pull it out. And of course...

Thoughts on Mark Wilson's "Complete Course in Magic"

I personally love it. It not only covers so many aspects of magic, but also talks you through how to actually perform. Also, yeah, what's with the spoiler thing? The Table of Contents would tell you all that.

    Tell me what you think.

Sounds cool! Do you mind if I use the basic plot and see what I can come up with?

    Fire Eating

Thanks, I live near DC now. Any recommendations there? Tyler helped me find some people, but all the ones who are even relatively close to me that offer classes are only on fire juggling, and a few on breathing. Noe were teaching eating. Might look up Mr.Newman over the summer, since I plan to...

How do you go from "a guy who knows a few tricks" to a "magician"?

Very true what you said. The only thing I would add is: This is true, and it doesn't necessarily mean sleights. A lot of the best magicians can have a great performance using all self-workers, because the presentation is good.

    A Comparison of Bottom Deals

Thanks! Yeah, I agree about Madison's deal. Lol I don't plan on using them at a table, maybe just for friends, and probably in a few routines. Still learning though

    Creating Magic.

So true. The beauty of creating something is that there isn't a right or a wrong way of doing it. What works for one person may not work for the other, and where one person sees trash, another sees inspiration. Oooo who is it?
