Smooth Operations : By Kevin Ho

Saying it doesn't make sense is bs because it obviously does, every step is clearly explained. If it doesn't make sense to you it's probably because you're too lazy to read it properly. You're in no position to post a review of Smooth Operations, Kevin Ho put a lot of work into making it, it's...

    TadikoMagic Prologue

It's great that you've put a video together but in my opinion you've got a lot of work to do. Sorry if anything I say comes across as being harsh but i'm going to be honest, there's no point me saying it's awesome if it isn't just to give you an ego boost. Firstly, the editing was absolutely...

    Beneath the Surface

You shouldn't have filmed it if you know you can't do it properly. I'd recommend looking into either the Mad Tenkai Steal by Daniel Madison in the Three lecture notes of the Clip Shift by Chad Nelson. Both are great ways to steal a card into Tenkai with one hand.

Where O Where is Chad Nelson

He works as a professional magician so I imagine he's very busy, i guess he'll be doing stuff like christmas parties, also Surfaced only came out about 6 months ago, there's usually quite some time between DVD releases. If he did another DVD I guess he'd do it with Dan and Dave again and they're...

    Beneath the Surface

The steal was really obvious, it seemed like there was no attempt to even hide what you were doing, you basically just lifted it up of the deck and shoved it into Tenkai. Also, I think the cutting and shuffling went on too long, there was 2 shuffles and about 5 cuts, this really isn't necessary.

    Twisting the Aces?

I learnt it from Dai Vernon's more inner secrets of magic, although I don't really perform it much anymore. In my opinion the Asher twist is the best version of this effect.

    Who are you?!

I'm 19 and i'm currently at university studying computer science and music technology. I perform magic for people constantly but I don't plan to do magic professionally. While magic is important to me i'd rather have a career in music.

    Daniel Madison Info Wanted!

Everything by Daniel Madison is worth buying, his thinking is incredible, Dangerous is a great start. The Trilogy by Dan and Dave is also a great purchase, I would recommend getting this at some point but I think you should get Dangerous first, it has far more effects that are practical in the...

    Balance in magic and life?

I'm currently at college so while it is busy there's often a lot of opportunity to practice. I practice sleights during lectures, when i'm doing work, watching dvd's etc. Then when I go out at night I always perform. It's never really a problem.

    How did I do it?

You should really stop now, the lying combined with arrogance is just making you look like a complete idiot.

    New Trick

The second phase of the effect just doesn't make sense, there's absolutely no reason to introduce the second card. He claims it's a variation of another effect, I expect the one you linked to, he should have credited it but I suspect it's more of a misunderstanding than intentional theft.

    Magic Project! Help?

I think advertising the cards to an audience of non-magicians may have been one of the worst ideas of all time :p. If you want visual magic i'd recommend The Trilogy by Dan and Dave, Surfaced by Chad Nelson and anything by Lee Asher.

    Exercise, Diet and Presentation

I try to go to the gym once of twice a week, although it doesn't always happen. If I had time i'd go 3-5 times a week but I just don't have time. As for eating out, it's too random to put a number on it. To answer your second point, I think a speaking class may help somebody who gets nervous...

    What do you do if...

I've rarely encountered this problem as I carry a deck of cards with me almost everywhere I go. However, people have wanted me to use their own deck of cards instead of mine. I just politely explain that the condition of the cards makes it impossible for me to do anything with them. Also, if...

    Spread Pass

Sorry but I don't agree with this, don't mean to be harsh but this was not performed well at all. There should be absolutely no pause when squaring up the deck, it should simply look like you close the spread and square the deck. There's no justification for the pause. You're not really doing...

Saturday Night Contest / roundtable + Doug McKenzie

This is a point which was raised in a thread a few days ago, in my opinion it's quite an interesting question. Why do you believe some spectators perceive magic as a puzzle or challenge? They simply try and work out how it's done and almost seem to miss the point of the magic and just don't...

    Magic Is A Puzzle

This is simply untrue, it will only appear like this if you present it poorly. Spectators will be perceive magic as a puzzle if you present it as a challenge to them, many magicians do this unintentionally. You need to get the spectator involved as much as possible, if you just do magic where...

    Eddiecaryl

I had no idea who that was until I typed the name into Youtube, it just looks like some random guy who has uploaded a few magic videos. Why would you even care how many subscribers somebody has on Youtube and why make a thread about it? Youtube subscribers isn't a measure of skill or respect.

If you want a cheaper alternative, I think Deja Vu maybe in the on demand section at dananddave.com
