    hey im a senior too and although im really into cards, coin routines can blowpeople away, with enough practice. and in this case enough = 100000 hours. coin magic is hard. pencil magic is awesome. i recommend the number 2 pencil and finishing with misled. reactions galore!

    I suggest the substitution trunk illusion, aka metamorphosis. a stage trick that isnt very diffucult to perform, but needs lots of practice and good showmanship and timing. good luck

    The first trick has hundreds of variations, and is most widely know as "card through window," but there is an excellent version by Daniel Garcia on ellusionist. as for the second question, if Criss Angel can levitate five feet in the air without camera tricks of a crane, then i have no idea.

    Force him to walk around with a deck of cards (no case) in his hands for like a week. It'll quickly teach him how to hold and handle cards, making him more comfortable with the deck. Then shuffling, (overhand, riffle) cuts (false and for reals) and then sleights like DL and controlling the card...
