    Hello.

    Welcome, like Rick already said feel free to look around and ask questions, there are more than enough helpful contributors around to find the right answer. Remember when welcome threads used to warn 'Don't ask about the wire...' Ahh, the good old days.

    There Isn't THE BEST....

    Not even favorite. My favorite version of card on forehead will differ from everyone else's. Good advice I've read (somewhere...will destroy books until I find it again) stated that you should not ask for a favorite or the best - but just ask for sources of different ones. You want to do a...

    Psycho

    No really, how many magnets does it take? Looks pretty awesome, *grabs paperclip* mine doesn't do that...I think you're cheating o.O

    Russian Houlette (Idea)

    It's a neat idea, my only question is why? You seal cards in an envelope, stab it with a pencil, tear the envelope half open and then turn the pencil - a card is raised and then it changes. I know it's still just an idea, but do you have any presentation ideas or is it just something you're...

    Any Volunteers?

    While I do have basic knowledge of CSS Scripts and HTML, I would recommend looking into www.squarespace.com. They have a free trial to start with and have a very user-friendly process to creating a website. The alternatives include : hiring someone to setup the site for you (once setup, you can...

    Any Serious Students of Escape Here?

    Wayne Houchin started his career with a lot of escape work, his promo video has a suspended straight jacket escape in it still, maybe try and drop him an email.

    Website Re-Constructed

    When browsing through the website I'm confused on what image you're trying to portray. When I think of Benji Bruce I see a nice suit with (more than likely) a purple shirt, he's charming and relaxed. When I think of William Draven I see his image, Victorian dress - skull emblemed hat etc...and I...

    Dude, you HAVE to do some magic!

    I've gotten into the habit of always having a bent quarter in my pocket with spare change (at least one non-bent quarter). Between this and borrowed objects (or routines that don't need any equipment) is more than enough to entertain for a short period of time. If I plan on performing I'll...

    Tricks to Perform Surrounded

    Then do simple card magic? Go through (as suggested) Royal Road and/or Card College, many of the effects are simple in design but hit hard. As long as your presentation is entertaining and the effect is clear then the method will not matter to anyone. A simple cross cut force or key card...

    Complete beginner - where to start?

    Mark Wilson's Complete Course is a good starting place (as already recommended). It's basic material in all branches of magic, so you can decide what you want to pursue further. Say you enjoy magic with coins, you can then look into coin specific material - same with cards or anything really.

    Confessions

    I often practice effects for weeks after they're performance ready in fear of messing them up in performance. I buy effects I know I wont use. I (also) skipped around when reading Card College. I palm cards when it's unnecessary because of the feeling of accomplishment. I don't always follow...

    Counterfeit Hollingworth by Wayne Houchin

    I'm going to vouch for the Crossing the Gaze, I've used it in a few routines and it's one of the best moves for certain situations. I was fooled by it the first time I saw it (Geoff Williams lecture). As for Counterfeit Hollingworth - I've killed 2 (full) decks practicing the sequence on this...

    Trick recommendation

    Since you already own Royal Road, go ahead and start there. Re-read the first few chapters and then move deeper into them. Cardistry and Magic have different ideas when it comes to the complex, knuckle busting moves you've practiced; in Cardistry your goal is to bring these moves to the...

    Tricks to carry?

    I would say you should carry only what you want to perform that day. Maybe take 3 or 4 effects and do them over and over and over for a few weeks to perfect them and then pick 1 or 2 more to add and so on and so on. You'll eventually like some effects more than others and stick to those.

    Patrick Kun :: Invisible Hands

    Don't feel stupid, and don't get discouraged trying to find those specific moves, everyone he credits has a wealth of material that you can learn a lot from, so take your time with the material.

    Patrick Kun :: Invisible Hands

    He credits everyone who inspired this routine in the video description, study their work and you'll be able to do this effect one day as well.

    Broken Pip

    The double was nice, but you didn't show the ace long enough for it to register that it wasn't broken before. There wasn't any presentation, so I can't comment on that, but the moves were done as well as anyone else.

    Patrick Kun :: Invisible Hands

    Very clean effect, is done with regular cards and is quite clever. Everything was smooth and motivated.
