I was very confused without patter. You take out jokers...put a card in between them...have me select and sign a card, losing it in the deck...bring the jokers to the deck (card inside) and then after some fumbling show it was my card? Why lose it in the deck if it's in between the jokers...

I play around with all of them, I find it faster in my hands curled underneath.

Practical advice: Create tricks with cards that demonstrate different things (Psychic abilities, fate vs. chance, demonstrating anything)and then steer the conversation into one of your tricks topics. It's really simple, if there is a pause let it sit and then ask 'Hey, something I was thinking...

I've also heard great things from The Master Pushoff by Andi Gladwin. I want to say Tony Chang (who has an amazing pushoff) just worked and worked over months and months to be able to push off two cards as one. It's a move that comes with time and patience.

That's actually a really good ploy to build suspense. Have great effects and then make the third one (which you were planning on doing anyway) seem like a super-secret effect that you don't usually do. I usually do this when I'm at a party with friends and want to do something more serious...

This reminds me of a magician/mentalist I saw new years eve last year. He was damn good at what he did, the whole show was building and I actually thought he did a good job with magic effects and mentalism and mixing them into a good show. He ended with a triple prediction, a movie-song-playing...

While amazing, they might see the card prior to the trick...maybe hide it in their first bite of cake. If I remember correctly Jon Allen has his wedding effect in his book. I think you can read about it in the free preview at Vanishing Inc...but picking the book up is worth the money according...

I've been to a show like that. It's like a comedian having an opening act that does the exact same jokes as them, it's going to ruin the punchlines for their part of the show. I say go for it. If you didn't have plans that night and are capable of performing I don't see why not.

This guy isn't just doing it over and over. He's got too many different (obscure) cards and he's not doing anything to psychologically force them. He's probably holding the ace of spades due the the great odds, but there is a difference between him turning the AoS over and any other card...

That's true, it would be nice to see the contents of the dvds, I've had a few people ask about the kit for a present for their children so I felt like checking it out for myself.
