I must admit, his ACR is really impressive, although his jokes are a bit to much sometimes to be fair, i also like his sam the belhop , it seems to suit his character.
Ahh of course, i am still amazed by the trick where he changes a playing card to a box of matches, and i stil dont want to know how its done, truly amazing
Hey, i was wondering if anybody knew whether this video is available for download or to watch online, I'm apparently weird in that i don't like music and would be feeling wasteful to buy the set and not use the music, anyone have any ideas of where i could find it?
I have seen numerous videos of Card Mechanics, (Steve Forte, Darwin Ortiz, Ricky Jay, Richard Turner etc...) who are all introduced on as the best in the world, obviously they are all very talented people but i was just curious to see who you think it the best in the world and why.
Im always confused by how to stop them looking at the cards, distraction is probably the best bet, i would never tell them not to look at the cards though, that is just asking for trouble. Still if it works for you, then who am i to tell you otherwise ^^
I know i am going to get abuse for this ^^, but a mirror, i know people say it doesnt help but it really does, then if its a flourish, try with your eyes closed, and always perform for people, trying to make it look as natural as possible.
I remember reading somewhere that Ortiz gets through 5,000 decks a year, and practices 6 hours a day, considering all of that, he doesnt seem too good, .... however, far, far better than Simon Lovell, who just seems to have a knowledge of these things, rather than the ability to DO them.
im just a sucker for the one handed shuffle ^^, even though i can do it and all, especially Richard Turners variation, looks sweet, and everyone is amazed when they see it.
Youtube is great and perfectly reasonable for things such as flourishes, hell i learned the one handed shuffle of some video on there. I do believe however that the larger tricks have been ruined somewhat by little kids telling everyone how they are done, although realistically, you have to put...
Definetely get both, although start with RRTCM, and about halfway through, switch over to Expert so you pick up all the basics first, then move on from there.
