    Forcing non-existent cards

Tribute to Varone is by Henry Evans, and is pretty darn cool. I can't remember the origins of the gimmick, but Richard Sanders uses a pretty nice gimmick to force a card which can then be shown to not be in the deck at all in his Sanders projects vol.1. I'm assuming you were talking about...

    23:23 - Dee Christopher's latest offering...

Dee, you're like the ASDA of magic retailers- talk about the rollback challenge! CL

    What classifies as Underground?

The term undergorund, when applied to magic, originally referred to a working magician, creating effects/moves/presentational hooks/etc, but who used them for his job- performance. These pieces would be circulated amongst his friends and close peers, but probably not published to the mainstream...

    23:23 - Dee Christopher's latest offering...

While I have no experience of tossed out deck routines, I can say that the 2 person code is lovely- simple, direct and deceptive! As well as Dee's thoughts on instant stooging, I can see a lot of people using this system! The Altered effect alone is worth MUCH more than the asking price of...

    23:23 - Dee Christopher's latest offering...

Everybody likes being able to accurately predict EXACTLY what card a spectator FREELY chooses, right? And everybody would like to be able to do this 100% off the time, yes? Welcome to 23:23... 23:23 is a collection of effects from the fertile mind of Dee Christopher. The crux of the book...

    Credit Card Vanish

I second Nate Kranzo's credit card vanish, excellent work! David Acer has a nice routine (can't remember where it's published-I wanna say one of the Natural Selections books), wherein a credit card vanishes in full view from the top of an ungimmicked wallet, and is found INSIDE the wallet...

    Coin Bending Trick

Sounds a lot like Andrew Gerards 'Psyche' to me! CL

    Chap Stick Vanishes

I would suggest looking into cigarette manipulation. I worked out a very slow, very magical vanish by applying what I know about cigarette magic to bigger, heavier objects (Chapsticks, Batteries, etc) CL

    Richard Sanders

Sanders is a great guy, perhaps he simply thought this chaps video tipped something but appreciated the fact that the lad complied with his request straight away. I own the Richard Sanders Sessions and they feature some of the finest, most practical, wonderfully visual magic I've seen. CL

Good tricks from Art of Astonishment?

Everything in these books is practical and intended for real world use (unless it's a jokey item- read: 'Air') My favourite effects are... Bizarre Twist Double Monte Reset Tic Tac Seductive switch Free flight Mondo Nifty invisible palm King Solomon's drink Sliding ink Up the...

You're out with nothing on you?

I may do a pulse stop using one of Bob Smiths ideas on the gimmick, or I may perhaps do a little impromptu coin routine (because really, I'm always going to have coins on me, or at least, the spectator will if I don't), or even some kind of complete transformation of an object using Greg Wilsons...

    New ground-breaking method for TK

Apart from the weird leather gloves at the start, it looks awesome! Dee, any ideas? :P CL

    French Connexion

This DVD looks real good! His handling of the rub-a-dub vanish particulalry intrigued me, being one of my favourite moves in all of magic! The coin work also looks exceptional, and that weird colour change as the card is dealt to the table looks excellent! CL

    Pass, shift and control

In a pass, the deck is divided into two packets, which transpose, usually to nullify a cut, as a control. Shift is another term for a pass. A control isn't necessarily a pass (many different types) and a pass doesn't always have to be used as a control. CL

    Who are you?!

My names Chris Lafferty, I'm 22 and I work full time within a big power and utilities company, in an IT role. My spare time is split between hanging with my mates, developing magic, playing in my band and literary endeavours. My main interests lie in music, magic, design, art, literature...

    Side steal trouble

I'm intrigued as to where you found these tutorials. If it's where I'm imagining it's no surprise if you've been taught incorrectly. I struggled with learning this move. I truly think that getting the basic mechanics down and then watching closely how other practitioners perform the sleight...

    True Astonishment Trailer Is Up!

I just watched the trailer again. It just looks amazing. I may well prefer the material from AoA over his more recent single effect releases and whatnot, but theres no escaping the fact that as a thinker, as a creative force, PH only gets better with time. I sincerely urge EVERYBODY to...

    TV transpo by myles nakouzi

This is decent enough, yeah. I really like this effect, Myles is an awesome guy and awesome magician. This is a really well structured, tight little effect, and it really gets the most out of the moves it uses. At a pinch... 7/10. CL

    Has anyone seen this?

Though this is totally and completely not my style, There are some really good moves and bits of choreography displayed here. I think I'm more impressed with the thought and consideration that has obviously been put into this effect. But yeah, I think if it suits your style, you couldn't go...
