    ECT-Ponsin on Thought Reading

The second effect requires the thought of card to be whispered to another spectator who is present. So no, that's not the effect in Expert Card Technique. Peter teachers a similar method in his DVD Freeform Mentalism. If you own it, the technique in ECT is similar to L****ng. The Expert Card...

    Mathematical card magic

Impuzzabilities are wonderful! I love the Perci Diaconis book as well, skip over the math portions if it gets confusing. Rene Levand was an amazing sleight of hand artist. He had a problem with one hand so he did everything with one hand. Ricky Jay writes about a magician with no arms or legs...

    Cheating

Your story reminds me of this story. I guess Lennart Green, Michael Webber and Rene Levand have a similar story. As far as I understand the rules of BS you can do what you did without a problem. I have cheated a couple times in games, only once for vengeance. A loud mouth kid said that he was...

    The name of colour changes

I'm pretty sure they are both variations on Chris Brown's Dr. Manhattan Change. http://theorbitbrown.com/site/portfolio-view/dr-manhattan-change-book-change/

    ECT-Ponsin on Thought Reading

On page 228 you get Ponsin's method for reading a deck. Basically the magician takes the deck behind the back and is able to tell what the face card is over and over again. For a mentalist it could be used as a demonstration of seeing with the fingertips. The cool part about this method is that...

Using same control on spectator twice

I chose to vary the effects that need controls. I think that any method, if overused can become a problem.

Does anyone know where you can get a brick of cards other than Bicycles?

If you buy a set of 12 decks from many sites they will come in bricks.

    Playing Cards with Linen Finish

I love Aristocrats! As far as I understand the USPC only offers 2 stock options; Casino Bee and Bicycle. I could be mistaken but the USPC allows companies to call their stock what ever they want whether it matches the actual stock they have.

    Gambler's Cop vs Bottom Palm

I use a pinky pull down or an in-jog usually. Sometimes I will use a buckle. It depends on what is the most natural in the moment.

    New magician needs help

It's great to have all you newbies on here. I hope theveryone forums are proving to be useful. The most helpful piece of advice I ever recieved was to live with a book. This means to chose a solid book and learn it's contents thoroughly. Perform every piece for an audience and get a feel for...

Yeah, this looks close to Touch by Daniel Garcia. Not the same but close.

    Rubber band Magic

Similar effects include Transit by Calen Morelli, and Rubber Thru Hand by Dan Hauss and Blake Vogt. Neither of them are exactly what you are looking for though. Good luck in your search.

    Gambler's Cop vs Bottom Palm

I love the book, Marlo is my favorite card guy. I'm rereading it right now and blown away by the little gems I've missed in the past.

    Bottom Deal: The Final Word.

It's coming. Half of what sells the deal is the rhythm. If your bottom deal is slower than your regular deal then slow down the regular deal. I think your on the right track but if you go for consistency you'll be impressed at how much it will improve :) Best wishes

What is your favorite wrong explanation you've heard?

For this, people have thought that my buddy climbs out the window, runs into the corner, walks out the door (that door is just leaning against the wall, it doesn't go anywhere) and people have thought that it was a camera trick. All of these are pretty far from flung from the explanation. My...

    Gambler's Cop vs Bottom Palm

Revolutionary Card technique goes into great detail on the cop and the palm. Marlo covers a bunch of versions. A cop can have more angle sensitivity, but the hand is generally more relaxed. A palm is more secure but the fingers are more confined (generally). An action palm uses another action...

Best Reaction You've ever Gotten from a Trick?

In high school I usually didn't do magic. I was at a party at one point and they pulled out a deck of cards. I did some magic and they were blown away. I took a chance and tried the Balducci levitation. I played it off as a joke but to my surprise it killed! I was a little bit of a legend after...

    Magic Community in Utah?

With so many magicians some are better than others and some are old grumps that hate newbies. PM me if you'd like to meet up or if you have any questions. All of the clubs have competitions on a yearly basis as well as club performances. You can see live magic as well as have opportunities to...
