    Recent Interview with David Copperfield

David Copperfield is the best! (IMHO)

    Franco

Sorry bout that! I haven't heard anything. His cardistry is amazing!

    Franco

By Franco do you mean Matt Franco? I don't think he is releasing anything anytime soon. For the majority of his career he's focused on performance. He is a graduate of Jeff McBride's School of Magic and Mystery.

How to prevent the card box falling apart?

It's not really prevention but I know a lot of guys that will just tear them off as soon as they get them. As far as the rest of the box I love my Porper card clip. This helps save the box as much as it does the deck in side. I'm not sure that it would really help with the tabs though.

    Magic and Law

Yeah, I tried to get into it and thought for about a year that I was going to be a lawyer. I came to the realization that it wasn't for me.

    Magic and Law

According to this video just Marlo's stack would be 27 feet high. If a building has short ceilings, like 8 feet each floor, that gives a foot for flooring. So it could be argued that just Marlo's creations would be as tall as a three story building. When we add Vernon's innovations we have even...

    quick idea

The original idea is really nice as well. We were just offering other solutions :) Ed Marlo has a few ideas on the placement of a chosen card and the faro shuffle. It gets pretty interesting and complex.

    Magic and Law

So this question comes up from time to time "What kind of legal protection do we have in magic?" A few years ago I wrote a paper for a college class. It was a pre-law class. I decided not to pursue law as a career but I did receive my minor in legal studies. As part of a class I looked into...

    Do we have the right?

Yeah, that's what I understand as well. My minor was in pre-law, for a paper I wrote I looked into this, as well as a couple other magic related lawsuits. If I can find it I'll post it.

Best video course for beginning cardistry + magic?

Haha, I push because I know you have taken more on these forums. It's so good to have you back on here!

    quick idea

You could also force a crimped card. That allows you to let them shuffle if they would like.

    quick idea

In the case of a tough participant I usually give them the deck and go into something self working. John Bannon or something from Impuzzlbilities would work. Cutting the deck to return the card followed by cutting the deck to shuffle is kind of repetitive for my tastes. With really tough guys...

    Do we have the right?

Wow! Yeah, video is completely different than magic tricks. There are clear laws and Paul broke them! What a strange situation.

Best video course for beginning cardistry + magic?

Very few people believe that cardistry is magic. Even Dan and Dave have said that while it is magical it isn't magic. The OP even made the distinction, so I think that we are on the same page there. I enjoy watching it and the 22,000 people who gave this video a thumbs up also enjoyed watching...

    Do we have the right?

If we view magic as theater (which some have) and we view purchasing a magic product, similar to the purchase of a script, then it might be more clear. From what I understand Teller used this defense when his effect shadows was distributed without his permission. If you purchase a script you do...

    pin code reveal

Peter Turner's At the Table lecture covers a handful of approaches to this. He prefers not to use actual pin numbers though for security reasons. Instead he replaces it with a number that could be their pin number. He has a lot of work on this plot. Michael Murray has a great book called A...

    What is your power?

So, in my hour show there is only 1 effect that does not invite audience participation. I have struggled with this to some extent. Like I said earlier my power is that I am persuasive (or that I get lucky a lot). In order for me to demonstrate this I need someone to persuade. I performed my...

    What is your power?

I hope you don't mind me challenging your view. From all accounts it appears that you have had a prolific career and I wish you luck in your personal endeavors. Please understand that I mean no disrespect. To "try do historical things" is a theme, not a power. Your power is not what you do but...
