Different settings one can perform magic

I love magic that can be performed over the phone too. I am slowly building a repertoire of radio style magic.

    Best TNR?

Re4rm is great for it's practicality. One signed card. I said it earlier but I do Dan Harlan's Krazy Kash. The concept was used with permission by Shawn Farquhar on a DVD of his. It is VERY magical. There is a change/restoration taught by Joe Monti on his Murphy's lecture that is really funny...

For those who have participated in the 'Fake Reveal' contests

I'm sure I've done the same thing a few times. It's great that you care so much!

Is this a good set for walk around magic?

Right, in that case I'd open with that. People are familiar with card tricks and coin tricks. Rubber bands are different enough that they can really set you apart.

    Help: Las Vegas trick deck

I recieved a similar deck to this from a local magic shop. They didn't carry one way decks and so they gave me one of these with bicycle backs. I glanced at the instructions before I destroyed the deck. It had something to do with forcing 2 cards showing that they had changed colors and then...

My sleight of hand card tricks compilation

It's a nice little video. The camera is helping you out a little bit. I film A LOT and there are places where the camera doesn't completley catch everything. It's a type of distortion or lag that happens when you perform something really quick. For moves like a pass, Cardini change or a snap...

Questions about Counterfeit And performing it 'wrong'

I don't know about counterfeit but I have combined Dan Harlan's Krazy Kash and Jay Sakey's Mismade Monopoly to make a signed, torn and restored, mismade Monopoly bill. It just doesn't work with a playing card (Unless you have gaff making skills like Blake Vogt, which I lack)

For those who have participated in the 'Fake Reveal' contests

Your reveals must be more convincing then mine. I only have a couple who get mad at me revealing the magic. Most people just go crazy about how stupid I am and how I suck at magic and how they think that I think that I am really exposing the magic.

Is this a good set for walk around magic?

I would try to rehearse it all together the way that you want to do it. You can then figure out if hey flow well together. After that I would time it. For walk around a typical performance can be anywhere from 2 to 10 minutes. It's good that you use strong material. What is CMH? I'm having a...

What's on your pre-Christmas August list?

If I'm going to perform it, then I buy it. On video it is fairly transparent yes but it is very powerful live, for an audience that doesn't know what is going to happen next. I don't think Madison has the BEST work on the principle. I have used Jay Sankey and Justin Miller's variations on the...

Is this a good set for walk around magic?

The only way to really know is to try it and check the reactions. I would close the set with French Kiss for 2 reasons: 1. It is very hard to follow, with ANY magic trick 2. It leaves them with a business card Also, how long does it take you to get through the routine?

What's on your pre-Christmas August list?

Yep, me too :) Nothing but Mystery was really great in my opinion. I have added the Six Chair Concert and Three Ball test to my parlor show. The Three Ball Test fooled me the first few times I read it and it has been a very successful piece and the Six Chair Symphony has closed my last two shows...

What's on your pre-Christmas August list?

I have a running list of magic that I'd like to own. With many of these I know the methods and I have handled the props but I either need the gimmick or owe it to the author to purchase their effect before I begin performing it on a regular basis. Here's my list in no order. Paul Harris, Water...

    Stage Magic is HARD!

I did learn a ton, if I was to do it again I would ask to modify the stage a little instead of powering through it the way they had it set up. They did send me a photo of where they thought I'd be performing but when the day rolled around weather played a part in getting it moved to where I...

    Stage Magic is HARD!

Yeah, unfortunately the only people who were watching me were lay people and I didn't get a chance to film it. When I spoke to my audience afterwards they seemed fairly positive on a one on one basis it just wasn't my best performance. I would have loved to receive some feedback from someone...

    Stage Magic is HARD!

The set up is what really made it a stage show. The platform was about 4 feet above the ground, the front row was about 25 feet away. It was held inside a rodeo arena so the audience was very spread out, both across the dirt floor and up onto the side of the stadium. There may have been 400...
