    Making a living doing magic

I feel it is always good to have another trade under your belt, Outside of all the work I do in this industry I also work in marketing - Things like this are great to fall back on and benefit you in your magic also. Looking at my cash flow, I make more in magic for the graphic design and...

    Believe Discussion: Psychology?

I think the big thing is that though a spectator could imagine when you snap change a card you could be quickly switching the cards in some way. The big up with Believe however is that they see an indifferent card get mutilated and is set down, the don't expect any thing fishy could be going...

    Idea - Magic in Beta

I'm sure that if people were to make a post on this forum, decknique or whatever asking for help with some new stuff they were working on they would get some good, honest feedback. In fact, many people on this forum do post videos, look at all the 'check out my new routine...comments?' posts...

    CoinTwo

I recently got both the DVDs through the post, now I'm not much of a coin guy - but I fell in love with these routines. They are truly phenomenal. If anybody is on the fence whether to buy either of these DVDs, just do it. like, now. Seriously. I haven't been this pleased with a product since...

    Panic worth it or not?

I've got most of the stuff on the site, Panic is the one effect I perform most - I use it to open my tables. It's a great effect, very clean and easy to do. In my opinion it's the best vanishing deck on the market currently. D.

    Does Coin Magic...

I suppose looking at the idea of coin collection, people often talk about things just 'finding them.' i.e. A: "How do you manage to find so many amazing coins?" B: "I don't know, they just find me!" When looking at transpositions this could be an interesting way to adapt a routine to...

    The UMC

He was referencing fight club, the movie. "First rule of fight club, you don't talk about fight club.. The second rule of fight club, you DONT talk about fight club." And it is an awesome film. :) D.

    Guitar Levitation?

You could probably make an adaption of the 'up in the air' lev. I think it's Davenport's that used make it. But obviously instead of a woman you could levitate a guitar. It would most likely be much easier to sort a guitar as they are lighter than small women :P D.

    What kind of tricks?

Just look around. Think about if you saw a professional magician on a stage in some theatre or whatever... You wouldn't really see him doing a tivo transpo or something. Think about what would play out well in a stage environment. If you've never done this kind of thing before then choosing...

    What kind of tricks?

if you have camera's on you and a big screen then yeah, they'd work. Otherwise I doubt. The angle's on King's levitation are too tight for stage use, the height isn't there either. Indecent would be tough to pull off on stage also, It's still cool that a card penetrates the bag, I've performed...

    What kind of tricks?

There's a pretty big difference performing to 1000 than 10, The main difference is the kind of material you'll have to perform, Obviously an ambitious card routine won't work in that kind of environment! Your best bet is to go for a bit of simple, direct mentalism stuff. look at some of...

Angles are good. Really easy to control. It's something you could do pretty much anywhere, as long as you have some where to place the cards down. D.

Are you dark... or just a punk?

I like what OwnerM addressed in the subtle feeling of unease, or mystery.. Could this be real? I perform all over the place in all sorts of events - take this weekend, I did a 30th birthday do in the suburbs and then a central London private party attended by big musicians and pornstars...

    Believe, bang for buck?

How is suggesting maybe forcing a card exposing the effect - Believe is done with no force, it's a free choice, so suggesting someone should force an old card isn't exposure in the least. Believe is a great effect, I started performing it a while ago and it's so simple, really nice plot - it...
