You could always just fall back to a simple criss cross cut. You could recap what you've done so far, and maybe hint at what you're about to do. Just my two cents, I like the premise of your idea though!

It seemed kind of slow to me. A promotional video should be more visual, in a smaller frame of time. Not to say what you had wasn't good, I just think it should have been condensed and more visual.

Something I've found works quite well is using a color change to "reveal" a selection, only for it to be wrong. The spectators then get to see a really cool effect within an effect, because you still have to produce their selection.

From a technical standpoint, the change was executed well. The "routine" however, needs work, in my humble opinion.

Agreed, Ricky Jay really knows how to tell a story. I know it draws me in more. I like what you do with the 1800's, it's interesting and creative. Gives you a reason to use those particular cards.

Does anyone feel that custom decks take away from the full magical effect your spectators should be feeling? Do you think that when someone immediately thinks the cards are unusual it takes away some of the power of your magic? Or does it help it? What do you all think?
