    It's buddy time!

You're cool and everything, Lee, but I'm saving my first buddy-position for Aaron Fisher.

<<kicks self for not searching that out>> Thanks, Morgician, for keeping me honest.

The Worst Exposers of All Time?

Yeah! They totally exposed that American flag-burning trick that everyone has done for years! And that one bit with the bass guitar and cigarette!

    Review: Split Spades Lions

It's a trick where, after a series of shuffles, the word "Unshuffled" appears on the side of a deck of cards. Upon review, the cards are in perfect order. This is John Houdi's version of the trick, from '93. Which explains the hair.

    Review: Split Spades Lions

Is that what it was? I didn't shuffle it for hours, trying to find the pattern. The only other thing I can't figure out is the purpose for a gaff card that looks like the box, when the box doesn't have a reveal on it.

    Review: Split Spades Lions

Got mine in the mail today; one of each color. Here's a breakdown, without all those ratings, numbers and other, as Mr. T would say, jibbajabba. About the performance: The Lions are solid all around. They feel more sturdy than the first Split Spades. The finish is extra silky, so fanners will...

HELP - Need to buy decks

If he can get you the Costco brick, that's the best deal. The next best deal is Wal-Mart: It sells double packs of Bikes for about $2.50 (in southwest Missouri, anyway). The store shelves the double packs by the registers, not with the rest of the cards.

    Wynns

I collect cards, especially canceled casino decks. Many casino decks have aces, face cards and 10s with extra markings. I've seen half-octagons, corporate logos and even apples: The New York New York casino's decks use apples instead of hearts. My guess is it helps with security. It's a little...

    Cheat

I have a patter for this kind of thinking. It revolves around how con-men hate magicians, because we show people possibilities. Cutting to the four aces? Did you know it was possible? Can you think of any practical applications? If not, want to play poker later tonight? If it were me, I'd stay...

    Cards aren't Everything... I Think

I agree with your assessment of everyone who has replied so far. That being said, I don't hear any magicians saying cards are more important than skill. It sounds like you're reacting to a line of marketing, not true magician opinion. Lines like this will never go away, because every magic...

    About T11's marketing of cards

I'm jealous that you're so close to Card Mecca (and, for that matter, WORKING there). Thanks for setting me straight -- I had no idea there were so many combinations. In the future, I would love to see T11 (and other companies) include as much information about the card stock, finish, etc...

    About T11's marketing of cards

Being a collector, I would love to see details on the card stock used, the thickness and the finish. But I don't think E, T11 or any other maker of cards would ever publish this because -- and this is only my hunch -- there's really not a lot of difference between them. The biggest variation...

    About T11's marketing of cards

I think we all have to admit that we love the hype, even though many of us hate it. We hate it because we respond to it. It works, plain and simple. We are well-conditioned monkeys, all of us. What have Dan and Dave done to hype their cards, except to show the Ace and to say they are publishing...

    About T11's marketing of cards

Dear T11, About that marketing presentation you did for the Split Spades Lions: Do that more. I can't help comparing how the Lions were marketed to the Centurions. Better video, better photos (including beautiful hues in the RGB colorspace!) and an appropriate description of the cards. Even...

theory11 news: Final Release Window for Wynn's - Today

I got two, along with two Centurions. That should do me just fine. The Brown Wynns feel like old Hoyles before USPCC acquired them. I can see why they'd be great for cardistry, but their fanning capability isn't so great.

    Bicycle Masters Quality or Quantity

My two cents: I'd go for the Masters, because they resist a majority of warping that plague regular Bikes. I also love the thicker stock -- it lets the deck "age" well. To be fair to our forum host, my Guardians have also outperformed Bikes. I would love to work at USPCC so I could learn...

March 08 :: Custom Playing Cards

I have never thought of it that way before. I have always wanted the credit for having amazing sleight-of-hand skills. Now that I think about it, I like your way a whole lot better.

March 08 :: Custom Playing Cards

What drives me nuts is that every store markets cards differently. If you want a deck of Bicycles in Wal-Mart, then go to the toys & games section and pick up a single deck; that's also where they keep the colored decks, VIPs, Club Casinos and cards with cartoon characters on them. But when you...

March 08 :: Custom Playing Cards

Convenience store? Well, no, I couldn't. But I can take you to Target, Wal-Mart, Walgreens or any number of retail, pharmacy or grocery stores and we could buy Bicycle decks in black, silver, gray, purple, pink, lime green and powder blue. We could also buy Bees, Hoyles (which are now Bicycles...

    Cerca Trova Ideas

I know I'm not the first to mention this, but I'd like to see more on the role of XCM in card magic. Or vice versa. Seems that a division is forming between the two. Katie E. said in a post that XCM is the future of magic. I'm dying to know what other T11 people think. Me, I'm not so...
