    I don't want but I want...

150 bucks for a pack of cards is just way too much. There are things on the Market that are better than that, hell Pure Smoke looks great and when they start doing the different color cartridges, I could easily see some good uses out of it. Like a really good Color Changing Deck, or using Pure...

    My Classic Pass

Aaron Fisher had some good advice to on it, He mentioned that you should practice it while standing up. Because really when you perform for people, you don't perform with your elbows on your knees sitting down. MOST (99.9%) people perform standing up.

    Misdirection

Probably a passing gesture and then moved onto something different right away. "Hey, can I see your watch for a second." then he moved onto a new joke or something else.

Magic Books that are now on DVD

He also said that you shouldn't think of it as " Video VS books" but more as "Video AND Books." Meaning you can combine the two learning processes and it should in the end help you out a lot more.

    On-the-Spot Coin Bender

You see whats going on because you know what to look for and it's pretty much impossible to misdirect a camera (unless he had the camera turn away.). Like Mat mentioned, the Coin bender is simply a tool and you don't HAVE to do exactly the same thing the guy does in the demo.

    Card Tricks for Restaurants

One bit of advice is that you want to have only around 3-4 effects or one solid routine that quickly lasts up 6 min at the most. Otherwise you'll end up looking silly and annoying the staff if you're spending too much time at each table. Think of this stuff as more hit and run type things, get...

    Volunteering for Children's Hospital

Well you CAN have effects where they touch props, just make sure you're willing to part with them after you are done. I've heard that many performers just things like Cups and Balls, Chop Cup, and stage effects.

    Volunteering for Children's Hospital

From what i've read/heard about the subject is that you also have to be ready for the fact that if some of them touch your cards/props, then you'll have to throw those away right away. It can be very rewarding and I've heard a lot of guys enjoy doing it.

Who here actually does xcm as a performance art?

That's pretty much what Steerpike does, and the problem is he tends to THINK that kicking up dust and having a tantrum is a good way of getting a point through. The main problem with it is that people will stop taking you seriously the more you do it, no matter what your point is. As far as...

Christmas Party Close Up Card Magic Routine

I suggest that he stops trying to plug the effect like it's the greatest thing ever. We get it, he likes the effect. Just shut up about it. As for effects for perform, I'd really suggest doing one effect that you really like and then ending it there and not really being an entertainer at the...

Christmas Party Close Up Card Magic Routine

How about you just perform ONE routine and then after that put away the "magician" attitude and enjoy the free food and party.

    Magic Conventions For Poor Kids

Magic conventions are essentially like any other conventions out there. magic dealers have booths or tables set up and they just use them to sell extra DVD's or Books. Sometimes there are lectures and sometimes you can session with other Magicians (though most of the top guys will just be busy...

How to prepare a deck in front of people?

Yeah, I'd say learn to cull and learn it well. While it can be very knacky at first, if you have Kostya's two DVD's on it he gives a lot of good advice on how to practice it and how to get it down to a science better. The Cull is one of the most useful sleights out there and there is a an...

    What is my first step?

The Magic Menu and Live at the Jailhouse are good sources. As for the business side of it, I'd say that is a pretty broad subject though are a ton of good marketing and business books out there, none of them will really do much besides give you a bit of advice and perspective from the different...

Dude?!?! give me my cards back!!!

There is a very simple solution to this problem. Don't bring your cards to school and don't perform for your friends AT school. This should easily get rid of the problem and cause them to not look at you like you're a dork.

    Magician in Training

Dynamo probably uses a completely different method because the Lean isn't something you can just perform at random. I know Michael Jackson had his shoes built with hatch in it and it was only used on stage. (pretty much everybody is aware of how Michael Jackson's version worked.) Though the...
