I think it's good to have a script memorized and down pat to the point where you don't have to think about it. But much like Eugene Burger has said, it's pretty much your map and it allows you to go off the path and then easily find your way back onto it.

Or if you know some hypnosis you can get them to give you their wallet, then you memorize the number and make them completely forget that they gave it to you. This may not work for everybody, but it is an idea.

The problem I see with it is that a lot of those moves are sort of dated, and pretty much a majority of magicians and performers have updated them over the decades to be a bit more practical and less silly looking. So him executing the moves EXACTLY like Erdnase described doesn't really do much...

As an entertainer you are going to get a little bored with your own effects after awhile because of how often you have done them. As for the ACR. I'd say it's entirely up to you how many times it comes to the top.
