I don't spend as much on cards as people think.
I plan to get an 85 average on my report card, not buy any more cards until September, buy the Art of Astonishment books, save up for True Astonishments even if it does take 3 years, and still have 175 bucks saved at the end of the year.
Chances are something like that already exists as I have an Acaan routine that sounds similar. Hold onto it for a while and see how much it can grow and evolve.
I love geek magic, but this is more gross than it is cool. I would think that you'd get more people thinking you're an emo freak than people asking how you did that. And blood makes me nauseated.
Not many people associate my flourishing with magic, but more of gambling. When people ask me how i did that flourish, I tend to say "Practice". I really don't understand why they bother asking; if I told them they wouldn't understand it anyway.
I don't know why so many people butcher the Sleight Method; to the audience it looks the same and setup is easy. The only problem I've had with it was that the gimmick broke in my pocket, but that was because i wasn't careful with it.I used the Sleight Method to audition for my talent show and...
Find a buddy that's into magic. My friend saw me perform and that got him into it and now we jam all the time. If not, then that's what these forums are for.
Lately I've been miscalling the card. Pick up a random card from the packet, look at it and say "is it the 9 of diamonds?" They say yes and you turn it over to show that it's different. I've been using that lately, but I find it unneccessary as they don't react any differently.
I did Thread 2 weeks ago for a talent show audition. People that were waiting in the halls to audition heard my screams, looked through the door and all shouted Holy sh*t. The judge closest to me shivered and nearly fell off her seat. I pulled it out and everyone applauded, including those in...
I would say to either prepare the thread more carefully to make sure it's "smooth" and to close your eyes as you pull. This happened to me, but you need to play around with it to get the idea of how it works.
Then why bother doing card tricks at all? The job of a magician is to make them feel some sort of emotion, and when they see a corner visually change, it shatters what they thought was impossible. Magic doesn't need a justification. They don't care about why something is done, it's about their...
How could Exile be taught in a download if you don't get the supplies that come with it? Seriously, what you're saying is flawed. Thread is not just a "small bit of geek magic". It is a full blown opener that really freaks people out. Saying that people will say "he can just do something weird"...
Take notes. That's all I have to say. If you see something that'll confuse you for example "put your third finger here, etc" then write it down as your ring finger and try to accurately describe the actions of the move in your notes. That's how I'm currently working through Erdnase's book.
I was like "who the hell is Jason?"
Anyway, I think that they mentioned somewhere around the forums that they are in the editing process and need Chris's final approval on it. Don't quote me on this though. My guess is that it should be ready at around February-ish.
