What is the Best Card Trick

Sorry I mean "Total Coincidence". "Triple Coincidence" is the classic by John Scarney from "Stars of Magic".

What is the Best Card Trick

Juan is the best! If you ever have a chance to watch his show or to attend one of his lectures, don't miss it! I promise it will be one the greatest experiences in your magic life. He's the guy to learn from. And to be more ontopic, probably my favorite card magic trick of all time is...

    Essential Card Magic Effects

Therefore I would suggest, if Card Magic is really what you want to do, getting the Card College Series. This is the best structured written course in Card Magic I've found. This is a path you could take. It's definitely not the only or best way for everyone, but it's something that guides you...

    Shuffling False - JFX

Very nice and fluid. Is this a full deck false shuffle or a top-stock control shuffle ?

What is the Best Card Trick

This is not a trick by David Blaine. It`s an old classic made popular by Paul Curry in 1942 (can be found in Paul Curry's "Worlds Beyond", which is still in print). Some methods for this trick are even older and mentioned in F.W. Conradis book "Der Moderne Kartenkünstler" in 1896...

    Unbelievable!!!!!!!

Well, Richard Turner isn't good. He is not human. He can do things with cards I doubt anyone else can do. A class of its own ;)

    René Lavand 1928 -2015

Indeed. He was one of the great ones. A real magician, with style and character. He could do things with one hand that most two-handers could only dream of. But that`s not his greatest achievement in my opinion. What he does was art, not showing of tricks. He was the DaVinci of Magic and I...

How to work through a book?

That's because it's an individual thing and there is no universal, best way to do it. My preferred way of absorbing written information may be a little bit different from your way. Some books are already constructed in a way you can easily learn from. The author of CC for example made huge...

Magic that looks like real magic?

Yes, great post by Craig. From a spectators point of view, without knowing anything about magic or mentalism, I know people who genuinely believed that Uri Geller can bend objects, but they didn`t believe David Copperfield can fly through the air or David Blaine can walk on water.

Magic that looks like real magic?

I wouldn`t waste my time performing for other people, that`s for sure. In my opinion showing superhuman powers is only 100% convincing if it has at least a tiny bit of believability, which some superpowers shown by some superheros are not. Bending objects with your mind could be possible (at...

New Video with Center Deals and Stacking

Awesome! Normally I don`t like youtube videos, but this one excels in quality, technical and esthetical. Great skill, and the video shots, music, staging, lighting really is pleasing to the eyes and ears.

    Favorite Magician

My favorite Canadian Magician is Doug Henning. He also was, I think (hey it's been a long time since I was young), the first Magician I've ever seen in my life (on TV). Unfortunately he died too early.

    Starting Cardmagic

Start with Card College Vol 1 or Royal Road to Card Magic, depending on your budget. Study the books. There are more than enough good tricks in both books.

    Impromptu Out Of This World?

I came across the above quote in another Forum. Seems like Mr. Loraynes version is more or less the same as the U.F. Grant version and he (Lorayne) did steal it. Can anyone confirm that both are the same ?

    Performance improvement DVD

I know, I own the set and the book as well as most of his other books. As I said you can learn lot about audience control by watching him. That`s why I said "even if you DON'T use a MD...".

    Performance improvement DVD

"Mnemonica Miracles" by Juan Tamariz. This will improve your magic performance. He is an absolute master in audience control. I have a blast watching it and there is so much information to absorb even if you don't use a MD. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFXBhjOs1c4 Other than watching...

    Dealing with liars

On David Williamson`s DVD "Ridiculous" there`s a live show where he asks a woman to name her card and she says "King of Flowers". Very funny. If you`re not too serious about it you could probably use such situations to your advantage.

    Triumph

I think he didn`t want to know who invented the original Triumph, but the shuffle/display sequence he described above. From the description it could be the Goodwin/Jennings display, and can be found (I think) in "Up in smoke" by Larry Jennings/William "Bill" Goodwin under "New Outstanding...

    Strongest Card Trick?

It is! I tried the classic "Twisting the Aces" with and without the final revelation in their hands. The last got a much better reaction. The same goes for Triumph. Until I got the hint from Woody Aragon to do it excactly as described in "Stars of Magic" with the final spread done by the...
