    Substitutions for Rope

Sooooo, what trick was this or at least where did you read it? I love rope magic too. Cut and restored, prof nightmare(s), ring on rope, Sandsational. Got something to add?

    Substitutions for Rope

Paracord- many people are familiar with the bracelets. For something more visible (an advantage rope has) then ribbon for the present you need to wrap. Rope is an ordinary item, I would still lean towards that. Your justification for having it needs to be nothing more than you can do...

    Clipshift Help

Congratulations on getting it that far! If you are having trouble sliding the card around perhaps you need a fresh deck of cards, or some Aristocrats. If you just can't reach it, then what they said. Watch the video over and over and check your finger positions. Good luck, and just assume it...

    Too much talking?

Dang, I thought this thread was about the song. Any Sweet fans out there? As for your situation, it sounds like nerves/anxiety. You need to be more comfortable performing. So more experience/repetitions, classes as suggested above and maybe some meditation.

Quickest way to set a deck up?

Probably the closest practical method for what you ask can be found in the Secrets of Brother John Hamman, but you wouldn't be done before they were back with their drink. If they are off getting a beer it's hard to ignore the advice above and just do a deck switch.

    Worn out Cards

Open a new deck compare and find out. If you are starting to wonder if you need a new deck then you probably do. I open about 3 decks a month, but it all depends on how clean you can keep them, what you are doing with them and how often you do it. Keep at least a few old decks around for...

    Deck stacks, pros and cons?

This. You should just learn this stack to figure out what can be done, then decide to which one you wish to commit. Consider the Redford stack from Temporarily Out of Order, it will do what you want and is based on Si Stebbins. I use a variation of Mnemonica, but that's just me. They are all...

    Face cut T11 cards, please

It would be awesome if T11 produced a batch of face cut cards. It would be really awesome. Even more so if they were Medallions. Just sayin'... Thanks for listening, Dave

Newbie to magic - struggling with the injog shuffle!

He did make a DVD to go along with the books, but as far as I can tell it is no longer available. He covers much from his books in the video Roberto Giobbi LIVE 2 - The Card College Session. It's just that I don't think he goes over the mechanics of the overhand shuffle in that one either.

Newbie to magic - struggling with the injog shuffle!

I do find that grip awkward, I jut take him at his word that it's good for me. Don't get too bogged down on it. Be sure to have something else to work on for a change of scenery.

    Double backed Tally-Ho

I don't believe anyone does. You'll need to make your own.

Newbie to magic - struggling with the injog shuffle!

Probably mostly just keep working on the overhand shuffle. Any videos you find online will likely have a different grip than Giobbi teaches and therefore not be of much help. Your left thumb is used to position the injogged card. You can make your injog a bit larger when you are first learning.

    Card Magic For A Beginner

Here is a recent post on self working card tricks. Some will require more card handling than others, but no complex moves are involved. https://www.theory11.com/forums/threads/self-working-tricks.49769/#/post-471610

What is the "move" that Penn was talking about?

I see from an earlier post that you have Card College 1. The move is covered in that book.

    Card Magic Theory Catagorization

There are only so many types of card tricks. Invisible transit, impossible location, color change etc. Is there a book that does a good job covering the catagorization and analysis of the different types of card tricks? I'm trying to find tricks to insert in certain spots and realize there...

How far can sleight of hand magic go?

In general I'd say sleight of hand can more than keep up, but it can require countless hours of practice. Most effects with gimmicks can be done with sleight of hand.
