I don't think card magic is the "easy road".. there are magicians who do card magic and they are missing fingers. Yet they still do it successfully. There are others who suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome yet Still focus on card magic. The "easy road" is a narrow minded response.

I like them both. As with everything in life, there are negatives and positives. Both have and are doing great things in the magic community. However, I find it odd you'd pit Theory11 and Ellusionist against each other on a Theory11 forum.

Science Experiments books would be a good start I think. Even kids books could be a big help.
