Nothing I use is ever original but more or less a huge variation on a trick. For example, I've changed Jay Sankey's Graffiti to instead of having a spectator's name on the card, have the name of the person that they were thinking of. Other times the idea might be good, but it's so impractical.

If the exact number of cards doesn't matter as long as it's between 15 and 37, I would just say "Cut about half the deck, more or less". They will of course try to approximate as best they can. It never fails for me.

This can easily be passed off as real magic.

I found some in several Rite Aids and Duane Reades.

I don't have Collateral, but i was not a fan of Dangerous as several of the "effects" were in no way magical or underdeveloped.
