Tip jars that are unique rocks. I use a bottle with two decks of cards inside. People come over and can't figure out how the heck I got them in there, and as they look, they see money, feel bad, and put more in. Last time I used it I got $40, all at a small gig of poor college kids.

The reaction, which I believe IS the pinnacle of our art, comes AS A RESULT OF the connection to the audience. Not saying that screaming and freaking out is the most important thing in magic (often the best reaction is simply just awe and silence) I am saying that the connection means nothing...

After a gig tonight, people who knew me came up and demanded the "Fork Trick" aka Morgan Strebler's Liquid Metal. Nothing but misdirection. And it still floors people who have seen it over and over again.

Gross... Seriously. So many people out there are trying to make their own decks of cards without having a CLUE how to make them look decent. They all take some dark, slimy, or otherwise terrible back design and make cards that no self respecting person would use. IMO. L

That's my favorite. I have the opposite issue, being too tall. Just "guide" them to where you want them and nail them in the process.

Honestly, it is all personal preference. I have nearly 150 decks of cards now, but only one kind that I use on a regular basis. I use the same deck of cards every day until it gets sticky and gross feeling, then I trade it out for another of the same. I usually come back to old decks later and...
