Best place to start with spongeballs?

Hey guys, i've recently been looking into sponge balls. In the past i thought they were stupid but now i've watched a few performance videos with sponge alls and found them to be really kool. Mostly cuz a lot of the magic happen in the spectator's hands. So i wanted to get started on it. But...

Close-Up Magic // No Cards or Coins

Definitely get Fiber Optics. You can do it close-up but it's not very normal for a guy to carry around 3 ropes. Try getting On the Spot by Greg Wilson. I don't have it but i've heard great things about it.

Woot! All three of my questions were answered. My guess is that it's DG or Homer Liwag.

Saturday Night Contest - I Am Anonymous

Do you think people need to find their own style? Do you think a bad trick can turn into a good trick with good presentation? Is presentation more important than method?

    Finding a "Gem"?

If you like impromptu tricks, Laced is not for you. The set up will take a while. But after setting it up like 5 or 6 times, you should be able to do it in about 2 minutes. After the set-up, you can walk around with it all day so it's somewhat impromptu. Dan does give you a way to make it...

    Finding a "Gem"?

So how do you find those? Do you just automatically know that it's gonna be a trick you'll like? Or do you need to know the method to know if it's right for you.

    Finding a "Gem"?

I believe the Gem Theory has been talked about before. Basically a gem is a trick that you treasure, one that you perform all the time. Or at least, that's my definition of it. I recently bought 2 things: Witness and Laced. After a week i started performing these at my school. The thing i...

    Teens on Masters of Illusions

I agree with Brad in many ways. I am too much into big reactions. Maybe that's a bad thing. But i was actually paying attention to the magic. I was (despite what others thought) extremely impressed by Krystyn's 3 card monte. I thought it was a very neat routine. Although Krystyn's...

No its called the Twirl Change. Its not a variation of Shapeshifter its just looks similar. I've seen this change done by many people including (Ex. Dan and Dave Buck, Jay Noblezada) and they all refer to it as the twirl change. I'm not much of a magic historian but i believe this was...

    TwinSplit Remix Help!

Wait, are you talking about the split? or the putting back together? If you're talking about the split, the posts above me have good advice. If you're talking about the putting back together, i recommend using a duck chnage or shapeshifter. Cuz the way taught on the trilogy (to me) is near...

    Classic Palm

Why do you need your hands flat? That's not natural. Simply have your fingers curled in. I believe Michael Ammar discusses this on his Intro to Coin Magic. The more natural you look, the less your audience will be suspicious.

    Teens on Masters of Illusions

Ok, people still dont understand me. I liked Zach's routine. I liked the reactions. I said it was GOOD. Understand? I was talking about the other street magic segments whose reactions i didn't like. Like the 3 card monte trick and that thing where the guy stuck a pencil thru his tongue.
