    Advanced Level Card Moves

I own hardcovers of both. But, yeah, I saw that LL has them now as ebooks. Highly recommend them to people if you don't want to search for and pay the high price for the rare physical copies.

    Advanced Level Card Moves

2 that are quite hard to find, that I really enjoy looking through are Card Finesse vol 1 & 2 by Jon Racherbaumer. I read Drawing Room Deceptions a few months ago. Loved it. Just received Revolutionary Card Technique the other day. I preordered the reprint the second I saw it announced...

    Advanced Level Card Moves

I'm a voracious reader. I read a few books a week, easily (not all magic). I have and have read all of the basic books and some intermediate books. And I've been slowly working my way through them with a deck in my hands. But I'm always reading and rereading them as well. I'm wondering what...

I think this reply was meant for a different post... Obviously not this one.

    Card College 2?

I'm currently rereading the Card College Series. And coincidentally on volume 2. It's well worth the money. I can't recommend the Card College Series enough. I enjoy the Card College Series more than Royal Road, honestly. And I'm sure some people will debate me on that one. But I enjoy reading...

    Question about setting up tricks

    1. Realize the Jokers are still in the deck. Move the cards around while taking out the jokers. Easy, but sharp people may catch on. 2. Learn to Cull. This is the best way. I can't remember what method Royal Road teaches. But I'm sure it'll be a good start.

What are your frustrations when learning magic?

For me, it's just that there's too much out there. It's really hard to stay focused when there's always a new book (and I love reading), a new move, or the rediscovery of an old book (hey, Revolutionary Card Technique) or move, or some amazing routine... Just staying focused and on a plan is...

Making a signed card appear in a impossible location

Neither of those tricks use gimmicks. That's why I recommended them. They are 2 that I use all the time. Super simple. And super strong.

Making a signed card appear in a impossible location

There are probably thousands of variations of this type of effect, using everything from a little sleight of hand to high tech machinery, costing $5-$1000s. So I'll just give you a couple that I like and use. The first one that comes to mind, that doesn't use anything but sleight of hand, is...

    Ed Marlo's Revolutionary Card Technique

Magic Inc is finally reprinting Revolutionary Card Technique. Besides RRTCM and Expert, I've never seen a book on more must read card magic lists. They're running an insane deal if you preorder - $20 off and free shipping. Anybody that wants to take their card work and knowledge to the next...

    My biggest Nitpick: Book Covers

Dan Buck has been posting videos every so often from his office and he has a poster of that picture on his wall. The whole book is beautiful. And I'm glad I own it for that reason alone. If you're a fan of Erdnase, this is a must own, in my opinion. It's incredibly detailed and adds a ton to...

    How Do You Practice

Recently I read a ebook called Approaching Magic Practice from Merchant of Magic shop in the UK. It offers up a lot of great advice about planning your practice sessions. Since I've followed some of the advice, I've been making a lot of progression on some stuff that I found impossible before...

As a beginner, which one should I focus on first? Card magic or cardistry?

Here's my 2 cents. I find that practicing cardistry helps give my hands and fingers the dexterity and control that really helps when it comes to difficult sleights. So to kinda use that sports analogy above - I view it more as magic is the sport and cardistry is the gym. But, I'm not a cardist...

    My biggest Nitpick: Book Covers

Great thread! One of my all time favorite covers. And in general I love the way this book looks. But, it's all asthetics... In my opinion, this is a much better book, and cheaper. Yet the cover sucks. (And really I'm not a huge Ortiz fan, but this book is just amazing)

    Cards slipping (from palm)

Jeremy Griffith has an awesome free video on magicstream that would really help you here. He's probably one of my favorite card guys. Wish his stuff was still available without the magicstream membership. Because I feel like magicstream would just overwhelm me with too much stuff and never...
