What trick gives you the best reactions?

I like "out of this world" but any of the DBsquared tricks go over really well, i do "card to mouth" and "the collectors" quite often and they get great reactions almost every time.

    The Nucleus Cut

eddie, you should really listen to "Flashcards Live" on magic broadcast... Jerry goes off on a hilarious tangent about the naming of some of these cuts - see the "Jerry's theory as to why are sybils so popular?" episode - pm me if you need a link... edit: found it - Episode 108 - the...

    The Nucleus Cut

this wasn't very great, I prefer de_lux's "rotor cut" which this kind of resembles to me except without the cool rotations.

    Back Palm

when you say "manipulation" I think you mean "productions" right ineski? EVERYTHING we do with cards, magic or not, is a subset of manipulation. I agree that very few people do it because of the difficulty... it just takes a lot of time to build up the necessary hand strength.

    Daniel Madison's Change refilmed

I think, after a lot of thought, that it is a gimmick, not sleight of hand, and here's my evidence: AFTER the change, the card is shown front and back, to show it's not a double-backer, double lift, or whatever I assume. BEFORE the change, EVERY SINGLE CLIP (including ineski) he already...

    "Vintage" Bicycle Cards from Penguin

thank you PhiltheMagician for providing a review, having handled both decks. Rjohnson, yes I believe that USPCC is sort of copying ellusionist here. After all they did release "black" decks recently also which shows that they are trying to get a piece of this action. All in all I am for...

    Back Palm

lots of people can back palm really well, lots of cards. some of it is natural advantage (hand size) and most of it is just lots of practice. I don't get what you mean about reaaaaalllll sloowwwww .... back-palming is not a "slow motion vanish" if you want to do that however, you can...

    Performing Copied Flourishes

i tihnk there are very few magicians that can make a living exclusively off their tricks, most of them have to have day jobs even less flourishers can make a living out of it... even De'vo and Jerry have regular jobs... maybe if "cardistry" gets hella popular then DVDs would sell so much...

    Tell me what you think...

I made a similar effect up until the joker ending... instead the spectator starts levitating... then they look at their card and dissolves in their hands. then it turns into a hundred dollar bill. the point is, without describing a method what is the use of describing the effect? I do...

    "Vintage" Bicycle Cards from Penguin

Allan have you actually bought some of these? 1800s handle TERRIBLE. they are some of the most awful cards I've ever used. these cards look similar but a little different - I like the idea of using these for magical effects b/c you can say "I found this deck of cards in an old...

Just Starting Out and GUESS WHAT...

If "your" going to be a grammar nazi, you should at least understand the concept of a contraction... for example "you are" doesn't equal "your"... not that you're out of line, but it is kind of ironic

    Performing Copied Flourishes

It's not *offensive* to copy them, but it gets freakin damn boring after a while of watching it. probably once I've hit 1000 viewings of the "jones change" I will start to get offended by it, but until then it's merely droll. copy away! it's like star wars episode two up in this mother...

    Stud Playing Cards

it boggles my mind that some guys still can get old studs for $2/ pack or $3/2 ! if any of you guys has good trader feedback somewhere, and is willing to ship, I'll buy several bricks worth and pay for shipping. could be a way to make a quick buck, or I can trade you some of my cards too...

    Bicycle Guardians Question

also... bend them the OPPOSITE way... do some springs and stuff. it might have something to do with your climate. different inks on each side of the card react in different ways. one of them stretches more than the other (contracts) and that maybe makes it curve to one way. so, your...

    Comparison

"I believe" that I heard "somewhere" that he was so fast live, they actually had to SLOW DOWN the footage in generation extreme to make it look normal.

Just Starting Out and GUESS WHAT...

Sure dude. What you are doing is similar to a kid watching F1 racers on TV. He sees em zooming around the course, and gets very excited! Imagine that kid was able to immediately buy a F1 race car and go try out a track! he'd either freakin crash that thing in an instant, or probably not get...
