How do you name a Flourish?

you are correct, zinc stearate is the dangerous chemical (although fanning powder is usually only a percentage ZS, not pure), and it causes very bad lung problems if you inhale too much of it. That's why I'm shocked that Jeff Mcbride recommendsd just literally pouring it on the side of his deck...

The Guardians have a dirty little secret

why... a thinner stock is better in many ways. double lifts, backpalming, many card shooting techniques... the only reason I can think of wanting a thicker one is, it may be inherently more stiff. which you probably don't need unless you're a spring master.

The Guardians have a dirty little secret

I agree with the original post There are entirely too many fanboys on this forum. There's something insanely ironic about saying someone has too much time on their hands for posting this info on the forum, while that denigrator themselves is obviously just as consumed with cards if they're on...

Dai Vernon's slow motion ace vanish - HELP!

Hello, let's give this theory 11 a shot. I've been trying to learn DV's slow motion ace vanish, I bought revelations especially for that actually ... unfortunately his "explanation" was very brief and without a demo. so, regardless, I've been growing my thumbnail out and it almost looks...

it would also help if the forums were split a bit so the nonsense threads don't clutter up the good ones... assuming theres good ones of course ;)

    Jerry's Nuggets Question

Want a stiff, clumpy, deck, just find an antique one that's been sitting in anyone's attic for a long time. CardConjurer hooked me up some ancient aviators and they are stiff, thin, and keep square all the time. I think a big part of the 'nug craze (besides fanboyism) is just that they...

    One Handed Shuffle Advice

good tips Seany. i would add "use new cards" if you can and also try adjusting your grip for better leverage when weaving. move your pointer (first finger) a little further down from the top after breaking the two packets. so it's more towards the middle of the packets (rather than the...

Favorite Deck Quality + looks + handling

I think the series 1800s handle better than anything. Great thread by the way, can't wait for next weeks.

    The LePaul S-Spread

that has got to be the quickest strength training regimen ever completed. my lepauls suck too it's because i'm springing them off all my hands when you really need to control the spring flow off just one finger (the pointer, right?)

    Guardians, My review

I just got mine, I don't think they fan quite as well as regular bikes, right out of the package. don't know why but that's the truth. but they're very close to it :-) the graphics look pretty cool and the one-way design is VERY obvious if you pay close attention (an extra cylinder on the...

Welcome Erik as moderator from a different timezone

Erik is THE credit master! And sweden is great (love those fish). For those American/English people that aren't familiar with the greatness of Sweden, the relevent differences can be examined here: http://www.jacatu.de/wbb2/t7850-swedish-versus-british-nightclubs.html

    Fluidity and Smoothness

It's T.G Murphy's "deck flip" from his great book Imagication. cool move. also, practice practice practice your springs. this move is unlike any other because the cards are taking flight individually! it's really a display of skill that will immediately give you "cred", Jerry C. describes...

    Welcome to theory11, card artists!

That is awesome news. Could I still post a tutorial on DN, without it making its way over here (are the tutorials being brought over to T11 as well is my question)

    Guardians, My review

if it is not a PERFECT match, then it's got a one-way design. any subtle difference, intentional or not, will make them one-way readers. for example many many many masters decks I've bought from "E" were cut/printed incorrectly and there's more white border on one side of the rider back...

    Theory11 Sponsorship

Good point , there are a lot of other things to be interested besides magic. If "cardistry" as a term doesn't encompass magic, then that's one. pen spinning, breakdancing, plenty of cool vids for all. :) I still don't see the problem even if every mo-fo on the planet wanted to visit this...

    A levitating wirelessly powered lightbulb.

Dude! I was honestly not trying to be annoying. I was trying to educate you! You keep descending into sophistry!!! Are you even listening to what I'm saying? If directed energy weapons are not a modern application, I don't know what is! These DO EXIST, but you practically have to have...
