Um...I don't really see in any way how this is like the Venus Trap. The Venus trap is a way of switching the top two cards and this is a way of controlling the card from the center of the deck to the top. Could you maybe explain where you got that idea from?

Thanks. And actually it's not a pass. The only card that moves is the controlled card and the rest of the deck stays in normal order. It is a bit similar to a pass though. And what you described with the angles is exactly what I was thinking.
