Blue Memento Mori Playing Cards - Murphy's pushing the limits?

Ok, so we all know, and probably love, the Memento Mori cards produced by Murphy's last year (or whenever, can't remember). However, some of you may not know that Murphy's released that deck with there then Employee, now relatively famous YouTuber - Chris Ramsay. Murphy's recently released a...

Issues with bicycle cards (too hard to shuffle)

Welcome to our realm! I'm assuming you are just starting out, as you are still learning how to shuffle? First off, Cards are stiff when you first get them. Generally, they need to be broken in, but since you don't know how to shuffle yet, you can;t very well do most of the things to break them...

Help Me Learn the Classic Pass! (Video Included)

Ok, This is very clean. However, I personally do my pass wayyyy slower. I have found that people tend to catch the Hand Twitching action when I go fast, as they see it in there peripheral vision, which catches motion. You have the motion down, now work on your misdirection and take it a bit...

Problem with my Virtuoso SS16 deck

That might be a click in the cards. Do this, hold the deck in Dealer's Grip, and put your thumb where the wave is the highest (ie, where it goes up, the highest point it waves up). Start applying pressure with your thumb. After a certain amount of pressure, the deck will kind of "switch" so that...

Water to Coke trick help (Best way to swap a bottle)

    A) A camera frame isn't real life... B) If you're doing camera cuts (because for whatever reason, you are putting magic up for Insta or something without ever doing magic in real life), both magicians and spectators will massacre you for them. smh

    Bluff Pass vs Marlo's Tilt

@010rusty and @Al e Cat Dabra, My only personal issue with that is that I hate shuffling the cards right after having them return a card, or In the middle of an effect without a reason other than to mix them up because we just lost there card. I've found that if I were to say (or my actions were...

    Bluff Pass vs Marlo's Tilt

Didn't even think of that! The cover pass is a very powerful move, and I should've put it up there.

Problem with my Virtuoso SS16 deck

If you bought them recently and received them damaged, talk to the seller. Otherwise, You could do what Christopher suggests and use a card press like this one; http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S12202 Granted, if you don't have a card press, you could buy another SS16 for about 2/3 the price...

    Bluff Pass vs Marlo's Tilt

Just curious to see which 2nd (or x) from top control you guys prefer and why. Personally, I prefer the bluff pass. I feel like I can create a much more powerful illusion using a few subtleties, and make it more convincing. I also feel like I have more control on where the card goes, while the...

Card force reveal ( The archaeologist of the 21st century)

That's a very clever reveal! I wonder if it could be used to prime a stage or parlor audience, with a large "Hieroglyphic wall" (large poster or paper), which repeats the Jack of spades...

Water to Coke trick help (Best way to swap a bottle)

Another one would be to just keep an actual one in your jacket, turn around to get the cap, switch the 2 bottles while they don't see anything, and come back.

Stage Magic without any special gimmicks or apparatus

I would like to rephrase, I came off as a complete a-hole earlier, but I was just kinda pissed off at something. My apologies: Mentalism is a great way to convey an audience, no matter how big. A simple prediction effect can be developed into a full 10 or even more minute routine. "Mind...

Hired as a magician( but don't know a lot of tricks)

This is very true. A couple of tricks in and of themselves will probably only get you angry spectators, especially if you have no story what so ever. I wouldn't necessarilly decline it if it is in the far future, but definitely get some experience performing major tricks for people - whether on...

Water to Coke trick help (Best way to swap a bottle)

Just came with this off the top of my head. Its a bit ballsy, but it might just work. Have an identical bottle full of cola with a lid on it in your back pocket. After changing the solution in the actual bottle, say something about "Where's the cap" and proceed to put both hands behind your...

Hired as a magician( but don't know a lot of tricks)

I agree with everything everyone before me has said, but would like to add this: If you are looking for the in-depth stuff you're gonna have to buy, I heavily recommend getting the books and DVDs these guys sent. However, for the free stuff, I recommend YouTube Channels that know what they're...

How would you work a room of people like this?

See if you can get a friend to help you set up and man a projector, or link a couple cameras up to a screen if there is one. Maybe have 2 cameras, positioned in separate areas, that your friend can switch back and forth between, allowing the audience to see what you are doing from afar. You...
