As a magician, I thought it seemed painfully obvious as to the method. Now, a spectator would probably look at it and think its an amazing effect. Its up to you, I think that its a pretty risky trick, but if you want it, then go for it!

My biggest questino about Control is: Since this would be considered a mentalism effect, do you have to have any prior knowledge of Mentalism in order to perform this, or will someone who has little/no knowledge of mentalism be able to order this and perform it succesfully?

There's nothing wrong with having a preference in the term of cards, coins, or anything for that matter, it isn't good to use only Tally Ho's, or only Silver Dollars. I myself prefer to use Guardians when performing, and regular Bikes when practicing, but does that mean if someone came up to me...
