    Sharing Magic With Other Magicians

Obviously no one can stop an individual from revealing secrets. Revealing secrets of another magicians work is unethical, dishonest and wrong. If there is a debate about it, then it is just from those who want free stuff. The disagreement is driven by greed, not a sense of right and wrong...

"Be one of the few to own them"

I think that the marketing strategy they are using is brilliant. Right from the conception. I think it uses a lot of solid ideas and lots of new ones. It's just like any other type of advertising that's effective. Love it or hate it, it works.

    Best Opener

Hey ElisG, No offense to other posters, but there's some bad advice for openers here. Technically you can open with anything, and if presented well, you can get positive reactions. But for an opener to be really good and effective, it should be:(perhaps)visual, straightforward and to the...

I Need Help With My Magic Show

Hey, it sounds good, just make sure your moves are perfected, and timed nicely to whatever music you choose. Make sure you practice with the music so you know how long you are going and when to move on. And make sure the angles will be good with your manipulations (especially the height of the...

How do you know when you're an amateur or professional act?

Heh if Brian Tutor is a pro, that would make Eugene Burger a beginner... ;) I concur that it is not the effects, but the income factor. j

    Funniest reaction

I was performing the biddle trick (from BTP) for a lineup outside the restaurant I was working in West Edmonton Mall. The guy swore and threw the cards all across the mall floor. I got a kick out of that one. I just stood there and smiled. He tipped huge later when I got to his table. Funny stuff.

    Excellent show

I just finished a corporate show this morning for Alberta Registries. It wasn't too large (27), but I tried finishing off with stigmata (the version where the spectator selects a name). It was a fantastic way to finish off a fun show. Never thought I'd use it as a closer, but it worked well...

Intermediate Card Magician looking for new material

As far as "1 trick" dvd's , Stigmata was one of the best, most used purchases because of the versatility and the routines are great. If you are looking for something new, I would recommend either Paul Harris' Art of Astonishment series. Or Gregory Wilson's On the Spot DVD. Fantastic material...

    Favorite ACR ending?

Man, there's a ton of great ideas here! I use the pop up move, but recently tried Sankeys Paperclipped move. Awesome. ANd to those who say that card to impossible location is not logical... what do you think is so impressive about the ACR? ="How did it get to that 'impossible location'...
