If you're starting in cardistry, learn the following: Charier cut, Revolution cut, Scissor cut. Learn them in both hands as it will give you the dexterity needed for about 80% of the flourishes out there. Also look up the terminology for different grips ( straddle, bidder, mechanics, etc)...
