Saturday Night Contest - Your Card Collection!

Hey guys, hope you all are enjoying your weekend! As announced on Expose this week, we have reverted back to the original color scheme on our Medallions Playing Cards. This means that when you place an order with a deck of Medallions, its back design will have the brown and gold inks instead of...

    Question about Flow

Thank you! I don't really post all that often, but I'm glad you liked it!

    Question about Flow

I know this isn't the answer you want to hear but it really takes tons and tons of practice, and there isn't a distinct timeframe because each flourish is different. You are also only one month into cardistry, so flow isn't something that will come right away. Once you have the basics of the...

Saturday Night Contest - Creative Challenge

Alright guys, after much deliberation, we have decided on a winner. This one was really tough, as there were a lot of great submissions. Like Brett said, it was nothing but great entries. This made the judging task very difficult, but I am so glad it was because the level of creativity you guys...

Saturday Night Contest - Creative Challenge

Hey guys, hope everyone is having a great weekend! If you caught this week's LIVE edition of Expose, we had special guest Calen Morelli answer your questions and give insight into his creative process. Calen is a creative powerhouse, and I was able to experience this first hand when he started...

FLICKER: is it essential for beginners

Flicker isn't a pure essential in my opinion, as I have never learned it, but I do my own version of a one card twirl from time to time as I treat it more of a finger exercise (the card rolls through all the fingers). The key is to not have a death grip on the card; treat it like a delicate...

    best deck for cardistry?

I will echo Grant and say there isn't a "best deck for cardistry" as it is entirely subjective to the person using the deck. It isn't the deck that makes the cardist, it's the other way around. A beginner could buy "the best deck" expecting to be good right away because it is the "best", but...

Bettering the cardistry community through the individual

My friend Jon Ramirez and I have dialogues about this all the time as we are pretty similar in terms of where we want to see cardistry going. I look back at this video from him and 4 years later it is still an artistic piece that I love watching. It brings me that nostalgic feeling of when I got...

Saturday Night Contest - Sound Effects!

Just letting you guys know that the judging process is still going on; really tough contest to judge! Will be posting results later on.

    Sub Rosa Price

They wouldn't let you bring a deck of your own to use into a casino at all. It's not because they could detect it (which they definitely won't), but if you're a casino owner and someone brought their own deck to try and use wouldn't you be suspicious immediately? I'd throw them out right away.

    Sub Rosa Price

In short - you would not be able to. And they would probably laugh at you for trying. This is also not a tool that you should use to cheat with.

    Diving Back into Performing Again!

Hey guys! It's been quite a while since I have started a thread that wasn't a Saturday Night Contest (haha); let me explain why. A few years ago, I was so enthralled by magic that I became obsessed with buying/learning new things constantly. I couldn't learn one effect and be satisfied with it...

Saturday Night Contest - Real Superpower

Alright guys, time for the results! Wow, this one was REALLY tough. A lot of great submissions, but there can only be one winner. In the end, it came down to performance/execution, how believable it was, and real world use. With that said, the winner of this insanely close SNC is...

    Sub Rosa Price

For me, SubRosa is a game changer because you do not have to worry about maintaining any crimps/bends, marks, breaks, etc. It is the perfect solution for maintaining control of a card/group of cards even though the spectator has thoroughly shuffled and inspected the deck to the most extensive...

    SUB ROSA

I echo Bryant; while it can be used for that, we 100% do NOT suggest using it for that purpose as cheating in gambling can be very dangerous, and is not responsible by any means.

An idea for the Wire. Would I be wasting my time?

Hey Brett, If a submission that teaches the basics would get accepted, it would have to go above and beyond what has already been done. There would have to be something new or have merit for it to be accepted. It would also have to have great production value, location, and great explanations...

Online magic and High quality effects: The Good and The Bad

It's just one of the basic things you can do with the technique, and what was shown in the demo is something that card workers have dreamed about doing - being able to locate the four aces from a completely shuffled deck. It's perfectly fine if it doesn't fit your style; we all have different...

Online magic and High quality effects: The Good and The Bad

Personal opinion: How do you know it's a letdown if you don't know the secret? If you can give your deck of cards out to a spectator, have them wash the cards on a table (as seen in the preview), have them fully inspect it - with no bends, markings, crimps, etc. - have them shuffle in ANY way...
