I was highly let down by the performances. Except for Eran Raven's. I really liked his. The rest were just... Bleghh.... However, friends and family of mine were all just blown away, and I couldn't understand why, until I realized that magicians look at it from a completely different point of view.

You would have to have mechanical access to it. Either: 1. Buy your own machine 2. Contact the managment of the establishment, tell them your situation, and hope they allow it. 3. Break in to the machine. However, if you're looking for an impromptu version, it's kinda the same situation as...

Hmmm, I'm thinking of a way that involves pre-placing the coin inside of the machine, to the glass, covering it somehow (so that the audience can't see it) taking a coin in hand, placing it over the spot of the pre-placed coin, slamming down on it, and palm away the coin in hand.

Avancer, a webcam could be better to a digital camera if he wanted to do the trick live. Simply riffle through the pack, spread the cards out and have him pick one, etc. etc. That way it would feel like they're actually doing the show with him. But yes, I would recommend a digital camera...

I'm sure that if you overacted with your language it could be funny. Actually, I KNOW that it can be funny, however, if you're going to use more "colorful" language make sure that you do it age appropriate, and with people who wouldn't take offense to it.
