Since he's not a magician, pretty much anything is "impossible" in his eyes unless you perform it in a way that highlights your sleight of hand. So pretty much go with any trick you want to do, he already likes watching magic so he'll enjoy it no matter what trick you do.

It is extremely risky. Don't do the trick with razorblades until you are 500% confident of your ability to do the trick. It's not a rock solid method but it does work almost all of the time. Definitely pick it up. Its a great trick with a great method. (PS: You don't have to use razorblades)

Twisting the Aces? Dr. Daley's Last Trick? Ace Assembly? If these don't work for you, do some more research on these kind of tricks. But as long as they fit your character, they should be fine.

Usually If I'm out with the intention of doing some street magic, I'll have Loops on me and make a rubberband levitate. People will usually come over and draw a crowd. If the situation just comes up, I'll probably just do CMH or something like that. I don't usually like to start with a card trick.

I don't think he meant that EXACTLY. I think he means: That the main point of magic is to entertain. It really doesn't get that much deeper. People don't usually learn a life lesson or change their veiw on something because of a magician. Its all just entertainment.

Try to MAKE practicing fun/interesting. Think about the different directions you could take a trick. You could come up with a new reveal, or maybe some different patter, or a completely new approach to a trick. This makes practicing a lot more fun and it helps with creativity when you want to...
