    Magician need to know Flourishes?

Simple flourishes like card fans, spreads, and a few fancy cuts can't hurt to learn, and if done right they enhance the performance. Performing too many flourishes though can be seen as showing off and may not apply to everyone's character.

    About yesterday part three.

The Mystery Box represents such a miscalculation on T11's part. So many things have been done right about it, but so many more were done wrong with how it was marketed, and hyped. I mean you have a company that's successful enough, and has enough resources to start just about any project they...

We've been dreaming. The Mystery Box.

Okay okay. Obviously this is something you guys have put a lot of time and effort into and hearing honest criticism about how or why this is a disappointment isn't something you're interested in receiving at this time. I don't want to get into any trouble here last thing I would want is to be...

We've been dreaming. The Mystery Box.

And there's just about enough mystery in them as well if you don't open them. It's like Schrodinger's cat. Buy a random box, wax seal it shut. ...inside could be the greatest treasure known to man and at the exact same time inside could be nothing at all. Until the box is opened you really...

We've been dreaming. The Mystery Box.

I realize that I just pointed at Davinchi's Mona Lisa and compared it to a water color done by a high school student but I built this thing up to something that it just wasn't in my own mind. My let down is my own fault. My disillusionment is due to my own desires for this project being...

We've been dreaming. The Mystery Box.

A box of cards. All this hype for a box of cards with art direction from the guys at Robot Chicken and JJ Abrams? Seriously? I thought it was something on par with what Rick Roth puts out through Outlaw-Magic. I thought it may be something strange and spooky. Possibly a mentalism routine...

Important question for the hobbyist or worker...

It's not about quantity it's about quality. If it takes you a month to master one trick and perform it well then I'd rather see than then five tricks you somewhat know how to do without any kind of presentation a week.

    Suitable tricks for children?

I've done a few hospital gigs. Some magic to avoid: NO FIRE!!!! No flashpaper, no flaming wallet, no fire production, spark production of ANY kind. Don't do tricks that produce candy as a give away. Not all kids can accept candy. You'll want to keep things fairly visible, and out of their...

    Impossible Bottle

I wouldn't help him on principle that the impossible bottle is Jamie's thing. I know he's said time and time again that he's cool with others making these bottles but I personally wouldn't support it. Then again Jamie is just that kind of an awesome guy. You're on your own kind. Good luck.

Advice for a Magic Castle Audition.

Don't get your heart set on passing. The Jr's program is aggressively hard to get into and I understand, whether this is true or not I can't confirm, that they fail many young magicians intentionally the first time just to see if they come back to audition again. Just go in, and do your...

    Formal Magic

I'm not sure "formal" is the word you are looking for. I think formal I think stuff like tux jackets, dove productions, and billiards. Very Slydini-esq. What you are looking for is more of the Urban Shaman route. Possibly the "organic" magic as Meggisonj mentioned. There are a lot of good...

Help with the definition of a 'gimmick'

I would advise you to get a better foundation for fundamentals in magic before you start releasing effects to the consumer market if you don't know the difference between what is and what isn't a gimmick.

    Magicians in Manga

Shoot Ogawa appears in a manga that is about young magicians competing against each other. I think the magic castle also is featured or inspired something. I can't tell you what the manga name is because I've only seen it in japanese, and I can't read conji, but it's out there.

He's not a nice guy. He's a dick. He has no respect for your passion/hobby/career/thing you love to do and he's stomping all over it at any available opportunity he gets. How is that being a "nice guy"? There's a couple things you can do. I recommend doing all of them. 1) Sit his rear...

    Draven Reviews: RadioActive by Titanas

(.....................CONTINUED....................) Performances with the RadioActive gimmick have yielded some really good reactions. Not to mention it?s handy when my coworker decides to play his rap radio station a little too loud in the locker room and I decide to feed him Disney kids...
