    Selecting The Right Material?

Lots of key points that I agree with have already been said. I think the big one that was mentioned already was that an amateur will purchase many effects and his / her show will be different almost every single time out there. Many working professionals will do the EXACT same show almost a...

    What would YOU do?

You are going to have to find material that suits the age of the BoyScouts and their fathers. That being said, you may want to have some type of classic effect but with your own new twist on it. Don't forget, entertaining is what you are doing, not just standing and delivering tricks. You need...

    Trick with a coin

I'm with Craig on this. In the real world, you better make an impression fast and hook your spectators in the first 30 seconds. I would much rather start seeing your actual magic ability with real footage / interaction with spectators and magic taking place then the film itself.

    Reflections from Last Night's Gig

My apologies Matt. That happens to be the actual name of the association in my location "THE ARC". I changed it in my post so that it may not offend anyone else. Again, sorry.

    Ziplock change

I believe this is WAY too similar to Witness as I own it and perform it regularly. Yeah the handling and presentation looks a tad different but it is essentially the exact same effect.

Touch By HansonChein/ Where to Buy Rubberbands

I order directly from a Rubber company and yes, I have the same problem. They will not make small shipments. I have to order a minimum of like 5,000 bands. So..I just resell them to people then in smaller bundles. I have the yellow brites size 19. It is called Dykema Rubber Company.

    Tremor problem...

This happens to 99% of us and as Casey mentioned....it will go away, I promise. It take a lot of performances in front of real people to build your confidence and calm the nervousness. Performing selfworking card effects first for the audience sometimes helps. Perform for friends, family, etc.

    Reflections from Last Night's Gig

I'm not so sure on the audio recording but I"m assuming you could put the little recorder in your free pocket so that you can go back and listen to your patter later on at home, or if it is a parlor or stage show you just leave it sitting behind your table or something and it will pick up your...

    Reflections from Last Night's Gig

My strolling gig last night was for a benefit fund raiser for an Association of Citizens with Physical and Mental Disabilities. Dave Kaplan was the headliner, Tim Wright "SkillDini" was also performing as well Mike Bishop "Comedy Hypnotist". My strolling was during the cocktail hour for people...

    Kids Magic Show!

I'm with Reality on this one. Post some of the effects you were thinking of and maybe some of us can help you put them in a nice orderly routine to at least get you organized and possibly get some transitions going.

    First ever performance

If I were to share my first ever paid performance, half of you wouldn't believe me. We all have to start somewhere. It was a birthday party gig for a littler girl (3 years ago) and I pulled up to the house to not only see a crowd, but a "live" trained monkey show going on in the driveway and my...

    Update on Advertising

Hey guys, I know in the past week or so advertising has gotten a bit out of hand and we are going to start cracking down on it. I have no problem with a member coming on here and "telling us" about a new project they are working on or asking for advice. The post needs to have more depth...

Does T11 have a bone to pick?

At this point in time JB will have the final decision on Kickstarter projects and we (Lyle and I) are awaiting feedback to see what his decision is. I will lock this now since the originator of the thread would like it locked. Thanks.

Does T11 have a bone to pick?

Alex and to Whom ever else I have offended, at this point in time I am not sure (but am looking into) what Theory 11's stance is on Kickstarter projects and such. Yours just happened to keep coming up a few times. I agree there cannot be a grey area. We are either going to stop all of them or...

    The Vortex Deck - Revealed

If people are interested they will support. Too many of these threads are simply advertising new cards and asking for support or money. Consider this now closed.

Has this ever happened to you?

I can't say I've heard those exact words but I will have people come up to me in my community and say that they've seen me before either performing magic at a show or twisting balloon sculptures. It is even more powerful if you actually remember their name too because then they feel like you...

    Hello.

Hi Bobby, welcome to Theory11. I see you have been here for awhile but feel free to get involved in our discussions and threads. We have a lot of great resources here to tap into and always try to use the search button before you ask a question that may have been asked 100 times already....ha...

    Holely by Will Tsai review!!!!!

I'm wondering if he was inspired to do this effect by Michael Close who used to do the same effect on business cards with a street and moving a "pot hole" Not sure if the method is the same but none the less, I'm sure it looks awesome.
