If Blaine did an effect exactly like it was written it would be easy for us magicians to find out where it's published, or where to learn it. He puts those variations in there to suit his style, and to pretty much up the ante on all of his effects.

It is a book for the advanced student that is willing to put in the time to learn these effects. Don't think he will hold your hand through each effect, it's up to you to take his explanation and learn it.

Also, forgot to add THE BOOK HAS AMAZING MATERIAL! Not only are you getting a great flourish, you're getting a plethora of hard hitting, amazing effects. Both the card worker, and coin worker get strong material from this.

You just described a 'classic pass'. It all depends on how you replace the card and whether you can get a break cleanly. As already stated, you could do the overhand shuffle control, which I feel is very convincing.

I'm pretty sure he's got enough props to carry around for 'street magic'. But I guess a stripper deck could be ok, even though you can do just as good effects with a normal deck and have lighter pockets.
